ohh,
I lived on th gold coast up until about 6 months ago, and was looking for a sprint at the time, i think that one was for sale then but i never went up to have a look. Was a little out of my range and wasn't very negotiable from memory Let me know how you go! i'd be interested. Poly green manual i think from memory? |

A Sprint will be worth more than an AU XR8 any day. Limited edition factory performance car. As Wheels magazine said "Better than a GT,faster than a Club Sport". btw i want 20 for mine, but you can tempt me with a fist full of ca$h!

just bear in mind chris- you'll also have rego, insurance and petrol to pay for. on top of that you'll have re-payments to meet and you'll have your el to maintain too. just make sure you give this lots of thought before you make any commitments to buy.

yeah i know ! as much as i love the look of the ed iam viewing it tomorrow ! yes i have gave it lots of thought ! and iam leaning towards a no ! because i thought of storing it untill iam 25 ! then i thought that wont do the car any good ! so i might leave it too 25 years old that will be 4 years time ! and i know the sprint will be worth something in the future ! so i have lots to think about ! the sprint is in black pearl its an auto ! cd player it is on plage 160 of the unique cars !

i don't want to put you off chris- it's just a lot of money to pay for a car if you then can't afford to drive it. certainly you could store it for 4 years..but that'll cost you more aswell. at the end of the day why do you want the sprint???
if you just want a late model performance car- buy an au3 xr8 or even a ba xr6t. if on the other hand you really want a sprint well then this one makes sence. however don't be fooled into thinking that just because it's $13,000 car it'll be a better driver than your el......for daily duties the el is enough car to get you by. i just don't want ti see you go into debt just to buy something that'll just sit there for years and you'll never get to enjoy.

yes that is the main reason y iam not proberly not going to buy it ! the rust in it iam not sure about ! but i look at it and it just didnt seem to make my heart beat 1000rmp ! lol i just had no feeling about at least i looked at it and it looked like such a lovely car ! who ever buys will get a good but ! i say its worth every cent but when i looked at it it just didnt make my heart boom that is all ! I WANT A FORD THAT MAKES MY HEART GO BOOM! like my el did when i first looked at and it sent shivers down my spine ! and it was a good sign and everything was ment to be ! but when i looked at the sprint today it just didnt do it for me !

fair enough. as i said, i'm not trying to put you off the sprint- but you are still young and it doesn't make sense to go into debt just because. if you really, really want the sprint then go for it, otherwise work hard (even do some overtime if ya can), save ya cash and then get something really good. if you play it right you won't have to go into as much debt to get something you really want.
in the meantime there is nothing wrong with your trusty EL, so just enjoy it.

Good points v8falconsrule,i bought a Sprint because i wanted one, not for 'need'.
I sold an XR project car and my ED XR6 to make the purchase. To me it was a better propistion than the 1967 XR i had for 7 years without much progress due to both time and money and i wasn't interested in doing a half arsed job. At least i can drive this sucker and still buy parts for it! Anyway for the record the Sprint is only marginally thirstier on fuel costs, it's really negligable unless your doing Taxi mileage and it's next to no different in regards to insurance - maybe less from memory.... |

it's always a hard decision to make. we once had an ex-ford executive xr6 come through work from the auctions. it was manderine in colour- one of my faves, but at the end of the day i realised that for the money they wanted i could turn the au into something special, rather than have a stocko ba.
i realised i didn't need the xr6- i just wanted it. i do however tell the missus i NEED a mustang......not working so far, but i'll eventually wear her down lol.

just as a ferrari is a better car to an xd- it's pointless if you can't drive it where you need to and can't afford the repayments. an extreme example i know, but you get the point i'm making.
