hi guys
i am currently making a strut brace (based around the one in a classic ford magazine issue). i was just wondering if galvanised steel pipe 2mm wall thickess and inch in diameter for be usuable for the project??? would the galvanising need to be stripped to paint it??? cheers guys |

Hi. I'm an auto painter. If your buy some deoxidine or alibrite, or some sort of metal conversion solution/treatment then wash the gal in it (Wear gloves) then use a green kitchen scourer to key the surface. Prime and paint with 2pac auto or marine paint. Add some flex aid drops to ensure the paint doesn't crack. Should solve your problem.
As for whether it is suitable sorry can't help.  :
