Question Anybody seen this car around?

For some reason the other day, the urge to find out the whereabouts of my old EA came into my head. Last I knew it was in the Nowra/Wollongong area.

Has anybody seen this car about? Be interesting to see if it's still as nice as it was when I poured a couple of buckets of money into it...

It no longer has the INDEEP plates, and only had a crummy normal NSW plate on it when I sold it.

Cheers,

Rus.

I sold it to a guy in the Navy, and I think he only kept it for a few months before selling it on to a younger guy. I don't think the wife was too happy with the lack of a child restraint point in the parcel shelf...

(previous owner to me had less than creative methods of fitting a 1/2 cage & a set of 3-way 6x9s in it which resulted in the parcel shelf looking like a very poorly prepared dogs breakfast) :

Close... Bars & skirts are modeled off the VN Group A.

Unfortunately, if you want to put a kit on any EA-D, and actually have taste, it's pretty much the only way to go... SSV offer a few different styles, but most of them end up looking like they were adapted from the XD-F range to fit the E series...

Sorry. I was referring to the AU being the vehicle of the 'Apocalypse'... Not the EA

That was an extension of my picking on Henry's AU...

Being a new AU owner i think they are better than you think. Nicer than EA/B/D's IMO.
Not exactly the vehicle of the 'Apocalypse'

Although when they first came out i was a little concerned, seeing poverty pack Forte's everywhere, they looked pretty shite with that hideous grill. But they made up for it with the Fairmonts. Then the TS50's came in and showed true Potential... What they could have sooner.
I think they have just got better over the years, slowly evolving

Each to thier own tho...

2ndOwner, I didn't actually state my opinion on the AU, as I don't really have one in all honesty.

But it was however, well known in the Ford community (ie: those who worked at dealerships etc), that sales and public response as a whole were so poor for the AU, that Ford Australia would have been forced to cease operation if the BA did not meet unrealistically high sales targets... Thankfully for the blue oval buyers, the B-series has 'saved the day' so to speak...

Hi Polyal, thanks for the welcome. No the EA was mechanically stock with the CFI 3.9L, only addition being a set of extractors and a 2.5" system.

I did buy a genuine 87K 4.0L out of a wrecked ED XR6 (as well as the entire trim), but unlucky as I am, it (literally) fell off the back of a truck on the way to me (Landed front of the rocker cover first, which broke top timing gear, pushed cam backward, bent rocker pedestals and all other kinds of equally yucky stuff).

Ended up being from an auto ED as well, so the harness & computer weren't going to be much good with my 5-speed anyway...

This car was not meant for me I don't think... The list of misfortune:
* Only started doing it up after it was half backed over by a Landcruiser.
* Had the exterior 100% done, only to have a VL rearend it at a set of lights.
* Did 3 ignition modules in 24 months, one 500km from home, another 140km.
* It once fell off a jack when I was trying to pick it up to change the oil, squashing me between it's nose & the garage wall...

The list goes on, including a duck landing on the bonnet and leaving a 12" long set of claw marks in it...

All a bit off topic, but I'm sure it reminds a few members of the little mishaps they've had over the years...

So glad I sold it I brought the 55 now...

There is a bloke on Fordmods with that car as his avatar. Maybe the current owner? But the avatar pic has the custom plates on it.

Certainly nothing wrong with a modified EA. That is quite a tidy looking car. And on the topic of the bodykit, EA2BA has a very similar bodykit (minus those side skirts)
