hey guys, just wondering how long have you had your current car and what problems have you had with it? also how many k's has it done? ill start with mine:
Model: 95 EF Auto I6 Km's on it when bought: 280,000km Km's now: 320,000km Owned it for?: 18mths Probelms encountered? Manifold Gasket = $250, Oil Pressure Switch = $50, Bottom Radiator Hose and Heatertap = $100 (all the above included labour at my mechanic and oil/coolant)  : Thats right folks ive only had minor things go wrong (touch wood) for the total some of $400 and apart from the rough idle i have (cleaned throttle body/and that idle valve thing, didnt fix so gave up) it runs like a clock and hasnt given me any trouble!

Model: 90 EAII Fairmont Ghia
Km's on it when bought: 148,000km Km's now: 250,000km Owned it for?: 5 yrs, 6 months Problems encountered? Head gasket, bands in auto stuffed, fuel pump, air con compressor, 2 power window motor/regulators, fan speed controller, idler pulley (my fault), steering rack, thermostat, 2 heater taps, cracked coil, weird issue with SLS suspension which caused it to raise to maximum height, ball joints stuffed, suspension bushes, steering rack mounts are currently pretty sloppy, and the rear trailing arms need replacing These are the main ones. Most are just general wear and tear.

89 ea 's' pack manual orig k's- 320,000 (when it died) 389,000 owned 14 months probs- Head gasket (2), clutch, diff (2), trailing arms, ball joints, seized brake calipers, dead handbrake, heater tap, lpg backfiring.

Km's on it when bought: 203 000 Km's now: 208 000 Owned it for?: 2 months Probelms encountered? Auto has a crack in it and leaking out fluid over the exhaust (Have a LE97 out of the XG it put in it done 20 000k's) Exhaust falling off (Took the tune lenths off the XG) Intake manifold gasket Crook injector (I have my own injector test bench and cleaner) thermos stuck on cd player catching on fire (it was a crap radio anyways) have a little bit of back lash in the diff (dont care) front suspention bushers front sway bar bent (i have know idea on that one) coil pack dieing Last edited by xgme; 07-09-2007 at 08:09 PM. |

ks when bought 148,000 current Ks 170,081 50% blocked radiator, overheates in 45 deg wether, coolent level senser quit its job, aircon leak that i still havent fixed, many suspension problems that still exist.

i have a 93 eb2 5speed
it has 270 000 on the clock though the engine has bee rebuild about a 100 000ks ago before i got it. problems i had with it coroded rotor button and dizzy cap.... problem im having with it at the moment is it surges and hops like a kangaroo on deceleration and low revs. am yet to find out what the farrrrk it is. helllllllllllp! |
