As the title says.... if you weren't driving your XR8s and GTs....what would be your alternate car be for around the same price?
Reason I ask is that I'm thinking of changing cars (a bit bored with mine)......but I can't think of anything that strikes my mind. All that my mates can throw at me are those cars with the forced induction milk carton sized engines. Only suggestion that took my interest was a Liberty B4. At one stage I was thinking of the X series 351s, but after some research I don't think it will be a practical daily driver. Any other ideas? Doesn't have to be a Ford. Anything under $30k, preferably V8. I don't think I want to go down the commodore path. TIA PS. I'm not after "dream" cars here. Just something practical with a lot of grunt

I like the exterior of the Chrysler 300C.
I nearly bought an Audi TT Quatro instead of the GT and still like them a lot and boy oh boy are they are fun to drive.

I'm doing the opposite. Moving to a BF XR8 as the primary car and moving the WRX to be the weekend / circuit car.
Don't look at the B4, you'll be disappointed, like most cars with a twin sequential turbo setup it is sub standard without extra modifications and / or tuning. If new, look at the 300C as mentioned above, they are a great car and the modifications and options for them almost endless (being a US based car). Cheers Brett |

Hmmmm well since I dont own a XR8 or GT (Dont even own a Ford) my answer is gonna be slightly different.
If I wasnt driving a VL I would get a LJ Torana or a XY GT in a heart beat. |

Pretty much anything pre 1980 is going to be questionable as a daily driver.
The mid 80s camaro is now in the potential basket. There are a few going around and within budget. Keep em coming though!

have u driven a LS400? It goes without saying that the sedan will perform differently to the coupe.
Having said that and with comments made about the chrysler, you will notice a definite swing towards bulky shaped cars , like the X-series cars u mentioned. I tend to agree with u on them being unappropriate for daily driving if performance is a key factor(lets face it whoever has the best, quickest,lowest x-serieswould have to say they are a big thirsty car in hot form.) Your knowledge of the lexus performance and handling will give you some idea of reliability, which is a no brainer really. ontop of that could you really pass up one of the hottest looking sleepers to come out of asia Ls400, 22" wheels, scrapin' the pavement! sounds tasty |

Get a copy of "Just Cars", I find the pricing to be a bit more realistic than other magezines. Besides it's sectioned of into brands so you can search for the exact make and model you want.
