Default The houdini act...

Recently I bought another house after selling my maternal home. Moved in new place this sunday my cat who ive had since 2000 came with me, I placed her in my shed garage on that same day & shed is all empty. She runs of to a corner being really scared poor thing, this being her second house move in 4 months. I place food & water for her only to allow her out side in two days so she wont run away & get used to new place slowly. So I lock garage door, next day she is still in corner & hasn't eaten I constantly go near her to comfort her & see she is ok, then on tuesday morning she is no where to be seen!

This shed garage has four walls
with a steel door & thats it
not a single hole any where,
so where she has disappeared,
has for the life of me stumped!
She has done a houdini act on me,
im still scratching my head here how she do it?...

Miss her she is adorable thing and 14 years old this October. Come back !!!

If you locked me in a strange shed I'd be scared sh_tless too! What's wrong with the house, cat would've been more comfortable there. There's obviously a gap or loose panel somewhere. Bottom line is, you won't find your cat on FF

I hear butter on their paws and placed down on the ground at the new place is the way to go.
Bit late for that though.
Check the rafters?
You'll be surprised how small a gap they'll squeeze through.

Lol, let us know if ya find her on the FF.

But seriously, hope she turns up.

Not a good idea inside the house, since she is scared of new surrounding especially with all the moving around along with strangers coming & going bringing new furniture, originally wanted to put her in the laundry which is in the house but away but got a lot of washing to do & the washing machine scares the crap out of her so garage was best idea, she adapted well in my parents garage while I was there temporary so figured she will be ok here too. Just two days so she can adapt but guess was too much for her....

I assure you there are no loose panels or even hole any where, thats what makes it such a mystery!

Na not in rafters definitely i double checked, inside the roller door its self would be the only place to hide for a cat but i checked there & there is nothing there, im not rolling the roller door just yet in case.

She has returned at same corner where i last saw her in garage went to garage this morning at 7:40am & there she was, where she was hiding i will never find out! No where to hide, how cats do it is beyond me...Im stoked she is back!

I know its odd to be opening a topic about it in a AFF's "it was more of a rant" but when your cat is your only close companion after a messy divorce & your kid is estranged from you, you too would be gutted! Hope no one goes to that path, i dont wish it even for worst enemies.

Mods please feel free to delete topic if you wish.

Good to hear she has returned champ,
Maybe make her a comfy bed new so she can be warm and comfy at night.

Gotta be happy you had the cat to take, I had to buy a pair of budgies to make my place feel lived in after leaving the place that had my pack of kids, cats everywhere, dogs, dish, was kinda quiet for a while! Good she came back, animals are such important critters in the bad times.

No 1.....really happy you found your cat, nothing worse than "not knowing"

No 2.....no idea where it would have been unless it was inside the roller door

No 3.... never be afraid to express how you feel about your animals, dog or cat, especially as it is the only thing you have left after a traumatic event......most of us are animal lovers, if it was one of my dogs I would be frantic....

glad it turned out well, now take her inside and give her a lot of TLC.

Thanks for the heads up guy's, things do get better.

She is now safe and warm inside the house, will take her a few more days to adapt to this new place, then she can venture out side knowing she'll be ok.

She is special to me, she is the kitten of my parents previous cat & she is the mother of my parents current cat.

Now that i got the garage to my self, i just might start the Xw fairmont restoration soon

As much as it probably looks like she is scared of the new surroundings, she is probably more excited than you are about the new place. All new nooks and crannies to explore, more places to scratch the **** out of your stuff, new trees to climb. All that sort of stuff would be exciting as for her when she settles.

True, today she wasn't scared but she looked very excited not knowing where to start her exploring Heaps more space then old place, old place was a single front victorian so you can imagine very little room for her to play. Mind you no garage no room for me to play with my rides...now that's changed. Exciting times ahead

Why's everyone talking like Kevin Rudd these days. Second time today someone has done the number 1, number 2...

P.S. I think your cat may have been abducted by aliens. Scotty likes pussy...

If we lose our cat (we've moved twice) we just grow another one
