What is your favourite TV station THIS YEAR?? 7 / 9 / 10?

So its coming to the end of 2012...Usually I like to think quietly what channel out of the 3 I have been stuck on mostly when watching TV. Last 2 years I was a channel 10 fan, and the year before channel 7.

I think for the first time ever, Channel 9 this year has taken the cake. The only thing I enjoy on Channel 10 are Simpsons (never get old), Futurama and Modern Family. But channel 9 this year....blew it out of the water.

From Big Bang Theory, to Big Brother, to Episodes (matt le blanc), Anger management and even 2 and a Half Men still is ok, to the upcoming The Mentalist and what looks like a good show Person of Interest! Plenty on channel 9 this year!

What are your thoughts of 2012?

Big Brother? Really? That was the reason why I stopped watching commercial TV all those years ago. It always ran over and I had to sit through that dross in order to watch House.

The channel I've watched the most this year is easily Channel 9 - The channel it seems everyone likes to whinge about.

Are we talking FTA channels? If so, I like oneHD, and channels that don't clutter prime time viewing with unnecessary amounts of advertisements

Of those three channels, probably 7 - but only because of its AFL coverage. Otherwise, I'd probably watch ABC more than any other channel.

I watched season 1 and the start of season 2 of Boardwalk Empire. It's a quality production, but I didn't feel any emotional involvement. Not sure what this says about me, but I'm looking forward to season 7 of Dexter. .

Channel 7 for the Motor Mate re runs, amazing in depth background info on cars, manufacter'ers, designers etc. Ford are always well represented - Capri, Cortina, Fiesta, Mustang etc. Well worth a gander, on at 3pm most days except Sundays on 7 Mate.

What about the guy with half a face? He's one of my favorite characters, at times you really feel for him then others he's just a stone faced killer.

I hope it last a while but with such a big budget it's going to have to rate pretty well.

TV? lol. They're all crap IMO, Nine's coverage of the Olympics was woeful. Thank god for Foxtel, I got to see so many interesting sports and events that weren't covered because Australia wasn't competing, and didn't have to put up with Karl Stefanovic or whatever other "personality" (I use that term lightly) was commentating.

The only thing I've enjoyed on commercial TV this year is the Rhonda and Ketut ads for AAMI, they make me chuckle. Other than that I download everything I like to watch - Big Bang, Mad Men to name a few - and watch them without commercials, whenever I want. Commercial TV with all it's narcissistic annoying presenters and advertisements just don't do it for me anymore. ACA and Today Tonight are classic examples of why people shouldn't watch TV - absolutely nothing they come out with is true or has any factual basis, they take money from advertisers to manipulate people's political views or get them to waste money on crap they don't need. I won't tolerate it, it's complete and utter garbage. As for the new digital channels, to be honest I can do without reruns of Family Ties. TV is for old people, get on the torrenting bandwagon!

the problem with liking any particular channel is that they all have good and crap. and the good ones just get repeated and repeated and repeated over and over and over and over again. that isn't a huge problem when there is 21 seasons to go through, but when there is just a handful like big bang theory and modern family, flogging the living crap out of it becomes a major negative

of the 3 main ones, possibly 10, but that is based entirely on their motorsport and afl efforts that totally eclipse both 7 and 9
which ever one of them grows some rocks and stops producing reality crap will be my favourite

i hope channel 9 dies by FIRE for thier absolute atrocious olympics coverage.
my 4y/o son could have done a better job. i was soo unimpressed.

at the moment watching geckos run around in the sun is better than any channel.

Foxtel is great. I love it. I rarely watch FTA TV now

I guess channels like One, Eleven should be counted towards Channel 10 and GO! and Gem towards Channel 9.

Interesting how Ch 10 is rating so poorly in this poll, no wonder they are going bankrupt. I think it is mainly because they have bs shows like The Shire, Lara Crash, Everybody Dance etc etc. Everyone of those shows got axed. But then again other channels don't play much better stuff with Big Brother and Brynn and other useless shows.

Dont have any favorites as I dont watch many shows on a regular basis. I will say this though. Channel 7 has turned into complete garbage after being one of the better channels a decade ago. Their sports coverage (AFL, V8s etc) is laughable and have some of the worst TV personalities.

There's a fourth and fifth option of the 'originals'. ABC/2 & SBS.

They are the only ones of the original TV channels that don't actually suck the intelligence from you. Fair dinkum, after watching commercial TV for more than 5 minutes, you can feel your IQ dropping. Mind you, that's not a problem for some people, you can't fall below zero.

When i answered the poll i presumed you meant Channel 7 included 7mate, 10 included oneHD and 9 included GO etc.

I answered 7 because the only TV i ever watch is either the footy (Very occasionally due to Port Adelaide's season woes) or cartoons on 7mate.

I was watching Dr Who as it was aired in Britain before here on ABC iView online. Otherwise i just download anything i want to watch.

I like Channel 7 news in Brissy because of Johnie Schluter the weatherman who got dumped by channel 9. What a pick up...........My god, I'm turning into my father, I like news.............time for a bex and a lie down..........
