Default Fg Mk2 Online

Hey guys,

FG2 is finally up on the Ford website as of tonight.

New colours are showing too...

A new blue - Kenetic (avail from now) and a Green called Swift, similiar to the current emerald Holden green.

www.ford.com.au

cheers.

After seeing the pics I'm glad I have the series 1.

The new series are all the same except the XR's having different headlights.

Why no 18" option on the LPi? Anyone know the reason?

Possible to fit 18" after market?

XT with new nose now looks a much better vehicle, one worth owning,
XR front is just ...wow and G6E is refreshed with linkage to previous model

Liquid injection and ecoboost are great new fuel efficient options and the new colours look good but i'm still not convinced the front end styling on anything other than XT is an improvment.

8 inch screen is nice but it would have been really nice to have some genuinely useful technology, like blind spot assist or adaptive cruise control.

Are they asking 71K for a G6E Turbo

"Falcon G6E Turbo
Drive away price° from $71,313
270kW/533Nm turbocharged I6 engine with ZF 6-speed automatic transmission
19" alloy wheels^
8-Way driver power seat with memory
Luxury performance suspension"

I can't imagine to many of those being sold anywhere near that price.

Gee, the Ecoboost videos would have us believe that it will be mounted transverse in the Falcon..... ;-)

If thats the best they can do its no wonder they cant sell cars. Pretty poor effort imo. G6 models look like a smaller version of the new new Territory. Dont mind the look of the Territory but it doesnt suit the G6 range. Glad I have the G6et series 1 as well. Big yawn here......

Those prices look very, very high, how do they compare to MK1 pricing ?
Shudder to think what they'll cost when they get to N.Z. what with the $1.30 exchange rate and extra 5% GST here. WTF are Ford thinking ????

If this is a portender for MK2 FPV pricing, people looking for a bargain MK1 FPV version better get moving before its common knowledge.

On the same website they have the XR6 Limited Edition for $34990, i cant see them trying to sell the mk2 for $15k more. It has to be the work experience kid playing with the website when the manager wasnt looking.

the accountants are running ford i tells ya.

Accountants solution for making money:

Put prices up by at least 10k per car (well sell 100,000 cars so that means we will make an extra $1,000,000,000) and we'll be rich.
Then make bugger all improvements to the new model and we'll save ourselves $3,000 a car meaning Ford will make an extra $300,000,000.

Then no one buys the cars but that is the sales departments fault.

Apologies to accountants that actually have real world exposure

Apology accepted. If those website prices are right I predict Ford have just done the commercial equilivent of pulling out a double barrelled shotgun and shot themselves in both feet.

Ford needs to correct their serious disconnect with their Falcon pricing relative to list/rrp and the prices paid by the public.

It is a serious turn off for potential buyers who may see the adverts and think yeah, I'll go to the web and check them out. It also skews the resale value for Red Book etc.

Those prices should be
XT - $34,990
G6 - $36,990
G6E - $43,990
G6ET - $49,990
XR6 - $36,990
XR6T - $43,990

Add $2500 if you want EcoLPi

no link to the new falcon on the main page = trying to kill the falcon
ridiculous RRP's = trying to kill the falcon
no xr8 still = trying to make punters buy the SS

why buy a runout brand new XR6 for 29 grand when i could get a slightly different one for only 51 grand?

poor form.

Ford are sabotaging their own operation with price rises like this.

Gents - Are we witnessing the beginning of the end of the Falcon ?

Surely the pricing is a mistake that will get corrected soon enough.. RELAX people. Ford have been selling Falcon for decades, they are not dumb and arn't going to lift the price by 10K over night between series... Come on people!!!

Those prices on the website are full retail plus all on road costs.

You need to compare them to the previous model before you all jump to conclusions. I don't think they would have raised the price any more than say 500 to 1000 dollars.

Its funny everytime a new model release the owners of the previous one try to justify it by bagging out the new one, cause they can't afford to upgrade.

The front end on the XR's is a seriously good improvement, and the G series are IMO no better or worse than previous. XT is hugely improved too.

I know I can do a search but was hoping for a quick response.

In terms of the Ecoboost Falcon, was any government funding allocated to help engineer this model? I faguely remember a figure of $40 million for tghe Focus program and when that was scrapped some the funds were diverted to the Ecoboost Falcon? Is my memory close?

Never seen an XR6 listed for 50 grand
I wouldn't read too much into it though. They just don't want to sabotage the sale of the remaining FG stock

The website is having techical issues to the point that I dont think it's complete yet. I wouldnt be surprised if the pricing content was incorrect.
