Exclamation Polariser - oh no it's back!

http://news.drive.com.au/drive/motor...014-1lnx0.html

Peter Brock's most controversial invention will live on in a modern-day tribute, writes Steve Colquhoun.

THE Polariser is back. The controversial box of crystals and magnets that was claimed to make cars drive better - and caused the late Peter Brock to acrimoniously sever his ties with Holden in 1987 - will be part of a retro pack designed for Holden Commodores that will be launched next week under the HDT brand that the racing legend founded.

see link for rest of story...

The polariser is back again hey? It will certainly polarise opinion that's for sure.
po·lar·ised, po·lar·is·ing, po·lar·is·er (n)
1. to acquire or cause to acquire polarity
2. (Physics / General Physics) to acquire or cause to acquire polarisation to polarise light
3. to cause people to adopt extreme opposing positions to polarise opinion
polarisable adj

Opposing positions is not at all encompassing, so I suppose a modern politically correct take would be to make it the Bi-Polariser. Bipolar is not a good thing either, I think psychiatrists have a cure for it. Hopefully modern science can treat this condition too.

As for the idea behind the polariser in the first place, I think Peter Brock was living proof that drugs affect ones mental condition; either that or he spent too much time whacking his pole-ariser.

Bad idea Holden, unless the bogan faithful are dumb enough to fall for it.

There was an article written by Paul Gover on carsguide about this, and one of the comments written at the end of the article says something along the lines of "you can tell this article was written by Gover, the only journo who claimed he could feel the polariser working". LOL.

Holden could build a car out of wet dog poo and Gover would still claim its a great car.

That wasn't bad taste at all mate, bad taste would be if you said something like; "The polariser will guarantee that your car will crash at high speed into a tree."

Yes because the positive energy flow from the polarizer allows you to do that, for a smoother ride.

Was Brocky dropping acid?

According to Brocky, lots. According to all modern day science, engineering practices, logic and the remotest nuance of common sense, absolutely zero. Hence of course the controversy.

HDT has very little, if anything, to do with Holden proper. Probably more like a "KPM & Ford" kind of deal.
