Default New type of speed cams?

driving through W.Gosford today there was a checker plate box sitting on an angle in the medium strip of the Hwy facing traffic and what looked like lenses were visible. Heading further up the hill towards the F3 was another metal box attached to a pole with two black lines crossing the road just past it. A friend saw a sign saying something about 24hr camera's. Is this some new type of speed camera?

Gotta love that we've got a premier we can call Bazza.
At least he's already done more in the last two days than that Seppo woman he replaced.

you are right, went past again today they have "traffic survey" scribbled on the side, why do they have lenses? There are also camera's mounted on poles looking over the boxes.

Lenses could mean anything. Could be a light beam for a counter.

its probably a survey to see how much revenue they could make with a camera by snapping and counting the speeders.
