whilst im restoring my BRONCO im driving a shitter rice burner 1.6 88 corolla. it does the trick, except comin back to adelaide from melb for xmas it starting shittin itself. the head. all the signs - severe overheating, smoke in the radiator, white residue under oil cap etc etc, a wiz mechanic whos a good mate saide chemiweld will get me home, and people use it for months at a time. what ya'all reckon? doesnt have to last a life time, just get my *** back to melb for wk...

i had a valiant ap6 with the same deal as you mentioned, i drove it with a burned out clutch and drilled a hole in the radiator cap cos it used to build up too much pressure, anyway did 3000 miles then gave it away...

give it a try, if it dies leave it ont he side of the road and hitch a ride... man make it a journey rather than a drive, my VF hardtop got a hole in the fuel tank (in the neck but wouldnt hold more than 30L) on the way from adelaide to melb, kept it interesting and gave me a reason to stop at every place i came across, best trip from mel to adl i have made..... last time i drove my V8 soarer and didnt even stop it made it from melb cbd to adl cbd non stop with a/c on 20" dinnerplates full of shiit and rooted afm so it was running rich... my FG wont make it that far non stop...

just fill the car with supplies and tools and you'll be right if your easy on it.... unless its already too far gone

Yer it works, you're meant to flush it after you get your motor hot and then let it cool down but in a crossflow I had I just left it in there. Sold it to a mate cheap after telling him the trouble I had with it and he never touched it for another couple of years. I couldn't believe it.

Of course it depends how bad the head or gasket is as to whether it works but if you try it and run around for a while you should soon be able to tell.

I had never heard of this stuff untill I meet my wifes Uncle, he run's a earth moving company down in Pearcdale, and he has used it often with good result's.

I have used it, it works well. A mate has had it in a falcon with a blown head gasket for years, 20,000+km. He was just useing it as a quick fix untill he had time to fix it properly, but it worked so well that he never replaced the head gasket.

We've used it in buses we sold for motor homes, after pilfering all the good bits out of them.

i have used it a few times,seems to work ok with minor problems but with a bad head gasket blow or a bad corroded head it wont fix the problem but well worth a shot at about $12 a throw.

My mates turbo EB which is race car only ..
Started to leak coolant with head lifting during burnout...
So we threw a new set of head bolts on..Same gasket..
Added some Chemiweld.. Never had a head sealing issue since..
It runs up to 22Lb / 370 rwkw on std rotating assembly...
Runs C16...5 years latter its still going...

i would also try silver seal, my young cousin had a blown head gasget in an 84 corolla and has been driving on it for the past 3 years with only a top up of the stuff once a year, very impressed with it.

yeah it works, a bit hit and miss, I would only use it temporaily. But hey if it fixes it good then just leave it.

Cargo seal up is pretty good too.

Used Pepper on my old 180B years ago.. Sealed hole in radiator...

I would go with cargo as it works really well, my brother used it on a leaking corolla head gasket and left it in there ok for several years, similarly I used it on an ED head gasket leak for 6 months until putting in a AU six.
