Default Back in an AU - nearly!

Well, I may be jumping the gun a bit here, but I think I'll be back in an AU in the not too distant future. I have 2 very good options I'm considering; one is a member's car and I wouldn't have to do a thing to it (maybe except a V8 transplant, lol), and the other is a '99 V8 fairmont at a local dealers that needs a small amount of TLC (also need the dealer to come down 1/2K in price or 1/2k up in trade).

Both parties are going to get back to me tomorrow at some stage, but I know which will I'll go given the chance (the TQE), with the dealer option a close second.

Kind of can't wait, but at the same time, the NF has performed its duties very well over the last year (roughly) - the fact that the missus won't drive it is the only reason I'm changing (I want to be able to drive the Explorer at least one day per week to work).

So maybe by tomorrow arvo, I'll know which AU will be heading my way!

Thumbs up

Go the V8, go the V8, go the V8, go the V8!

Okay, so I got a little carried away there! LOL!

It'll be awesome to have you back in either AU, but as Whoosha has correctly stated, you never left.

All the very best with it.

What's a TQE?

Good luck either way!

GK - you crack me up! The V8 is an option, and I know if i get a TQE (Three Quarter Engine, aka 6 cyl), I'll miss the 8, nut I always have the explorer!

Woosha - yes, I check in from time to time, but it's harder to offer advice when I can't go to the driveway and just check; the memory's not what it used to be.

Mick, you know I'd buy the 'stang if I could get the funds, but getting $5k odd together is a lot easier than what the stang's worth. It was test driving your beast that has given me the itches; I actually want a ute, but the member's car I am looking at is near pristine, and the V8 'mont looks good too (though requires some TLC, as I said), and Pol has agreed to "let" me drive the Explorer at least one day a week if i get either of the AUs.

As for numbers, let's see:
1. AU1 XR8 Manual, Hot chilli
2. AU1 XR6 VCT Auto, Galaxy blue
3. AU2 Forte V8 Auto, Meteorite
4. AU1 XR8 Auto, Galaxy blue
5. AU2 Forte/"XR" Wagon I6 Auto, Silhouette

So this would be AU number 6.

Though the missus has just found a 180,xxx km BA Fairmont for $7850 down the coast - might be worth a look too! Nah - if I "upgrade" from the NF, it will be to an AU.

ROFL. If I get the preferred one, it won't be for around 3 weeks; I need to pick it up from interstate.

Private9 - if I posted pics, I would definitely be jumping the gun, but once I know for sure, I'll be posting pics ASAP!

Auto all the way - Pol can't use the clutch in an AU, or any manual for that matter!

You up for a flight as well? How many of those $2 flights did you get? And when are they for? Pick up for this will be mid March (probably around the 14th or so).

That it was. This 6 pack is in better condition than the V8, and slightly more affordable too, and it will do the job. It will just be good to be back in an AU (though they really aren't too different to an E series - not the Live axle AU versions, anyway)

Yeh, well; you only miss something once it's gone, and each of the 5 previous previous AUs I have had have been great in their own way - I just never remeber that when they're current, only when they're gone.

I have some nice S3 5-spoke XR 17" wheels with no gutter rush that I might be interested in parting with. :P
