i bought some chrome door handels for my au but haven trouble how do i go getting the old ones off its like a rivet i have tried drilling but just stuffed it up

It is a rivet and you need to drill the top off, just use a drill bigger than the pin so that you break the outer large face.
And then just bolt the new handle on with bolts or you could get the same large rivets.

before u go threw that problem
listern its a series 1 yeah ? there should be a post around here, i think "LG" or "mechanic" may hvave a clue where it is, it saves a lot of time and effort from drilling out the rivot and replacing it etc etce its a way to pull apart the fdoor handles and change them over with out drilling, it takes a little longet but is alot easier to do, it took me about 1hr 30mins to do all 4 door handles when i did mine cheers brad` |

I just removed the white split pin from the handles. Saved me having to drill the rivets.
Pretty simple job. Just have a look how its done on the chrome handle, then rebuild it connected to the car.

did the same as above. no need to stuff around with rivets etc.
