That kind of makes sense. However, in the limited domestics i have done, im yet to come accross an external single brick wall thats anywhere near as nice on the inside as the outside. Why would anyone waste time tidying up the inside of a brick wall that is going to get covered over??

Nobody uses cavity battens anymore, there's no frugality with mud, and washouts are only done twice a day - mid morning and packing up time.
