Default Aftermarket Stereo volume controls

Hi All,
appreciate any help.
I bought a joying head unit for my au3 station wagon. I installed it and it works fine.
https://www.carjoying.com/joying-aut...arema-679.html

I'm having trouble getting the steering volume buttons to work. The joying site is difficult to understand.
here it is: http://www.joying.ca/joying-blog/13.html

They have a key 1 and key 2 for volume up and down. I can't find a clear answer as to which wires on the harness I hook these up to.
Can anyone help?

Hi. The red/white wire in the factory harness is the steering wheel control wire and you need to connect it to "key1" and then program the set to work with the functions as required. Cheers MD

hi Michael,

i really appreciate the reply. I've looked at the factory plug/harness but can't see a red and white striped one.

I've taken a picture. I have a red and blue and a red with gray rings.

Am I missing something?

Ian

hi Michael,

thanks again for your time. Are you talking about removing the steering wheel or airbag?
Or do you just mean looking underneath at the plugs? If so, there are a lot of plugs under there.
Here are some pics.

Hi. It will be in one of those plugs at the bottom of the column, a small 4 or 6 pin plug from memory. Dont cut the wire, just join another wire to it. Cheers MD

In your photos its the blue w/ white trace one two to the right from the orange wire (although colour says its the red/ehite trace next to that. Odd) Not aure why your au3 has a different wiring colour setup to my au1 though, could of sworn theyd be the same.

Do you have any pics of the stereo fitted into the car?
I would love to see how the big screen looks.
Thanks.
