the police have been handed brand new yellow highway patrol cars but just have a look at the quoted 0-100kmh times.WTF is with this?

That's so they can also stick to the speed limit, and to also make sure that it doesn't seem like they're hooning.
Not as nice looking though as our Monaros up here.

Yawn, again just another attempt at showing the general public that they are trying to save lives.... If I see them getting mobile phone users, bad drivers, and unroadworthy cars, then I will give them my 100% support. What a waste!

I had to laugh when I read the 0-100 in 9 secs, must be fitted out with the Comedydore dud V6. Travels smoothly at 180kmph, but takes forever to get there and has terrible flat spot 3000-4000rpm. Seems about realistic in the new canary yellow smart cars, loaded down with laser/radar/pin book/mdt/mdn and maybe running V6 9 secs would be correct.....

It says 0-100 in under 9 seconds .... so they are not giving away what it actually does ... they are eluding motorists into thinking they aren't fast at all.
under 9 seconds can mean 0-100km/h in 5 seconds ... think of it.
