Hi
Has anyone fitted snowchains on stanard Zetecs? I know in the manual it says not to fit them on the 17s but has anyone done otherwise and not have any issues? |

Can't say I've ever needed to living in Queensland. Maybe try looking through some European forums for an answer.

There are a bunch of people who have fitted them to the XR5 (18's) where the manual says not to... I personally wouldn't be overly concerned, however depending on if the car is stock height or not may be a different story.

Thanks for the replies. I will try them on while stopped and turn the wheel and see if anything scrubs. Hopefully all works out well!

Din't know if you have done youyr little trip, of if you own or have the chains in your posession at the moment but I would be looking to see if they come anywhere near your wheel faces? If the design of your wheels is a certain way, the chains will make a mess of your finish.
I have seen people slit some old garden hose and use it as a cover around the chains that get close / make contact with the wheel face.
