Default window toggle switch

Hi. Series lll AU XLS. the toggle switch for left/right windows died today, with r/h window down. does the cover plate (trim) around switches lift of, (and how) or is it more involved than that

Hi. The plate with the switches attached just lifts straight up and then you can unplug the wiring from the bottom of the switches. There can be two problem that you can find if you are game to take them apart. The first is an easy fix, after removing the rocker at the top of the switch the moving contacts will fall out and one contact may be dirty or have some rubbish sitting in the switch, just clean it out and scrape or use an eraser to clean the contact points. The second fault will be just like the first fault but the moving contact will have got so hot that it will have melted the spring loaded button that pushes the moving tab back and forward and in that case you will need a new switch.
