Exclamation Spy shots of 2012/2013 Escape/Kuga interior

Someone might get fired for this one:

http://blog.caranddriver.com/spies-g...3-ford-escape/

Looks a bit too "busy" for my liking but no doubt the tech heads will love the features (if this is the car that comes to Australia that is).

Whats with all the american fords having a push button tiptronic shifter on the side of the shifter rather than a gate. Guess it appeals to the playstation generation.

May just camera angle, but the rev counter and speedo looked to be completely blocked by the huge steering column.?
The guages look way too low.

Yeah NOT a fan of that! should just use paddle shift on the wheel for the playstation kids and then a gate on the shifter. Hope the Falcon doesn't go down that road!

Interior doesn't look too bad..wouldn't suit the Falcon or Terry though.

Looks like something you'd find in a video games arcade.

That colour grey plastic looks tacky

Not a fan - way too busy. Also looks rather cramped in there?

Can't say I am a fan based on that pic. There is just way too much going on there.

Well guy's get used to it, because what you're looking at is basically the interior for the new Focus too.

Retaining a proper handbrake is nice to see. Hate foot park brakes ala Aurion/Camry/CX7 et all.

Plenty of tech, even if the layout looks busy from this angle. More important is what it looks like from the driver/passenger seats!

Unsurprisingly, it's similar to the new C-max interior:

That looks terrible imo.
How are you supposed to get the buttons in front of the shifter, not very intuitive at all. Buttons and dial everywhere.
And I reckon the screen would be hard to see 'at a glance'. It has wings either side and faces straight back.
Also, why not have more colours than grey with grey accents.

Its alright, but I like how my AU dash is different too so there ya go.

If its a mule then depending on its age materials/textures etc are not final. Look at jdp80's pic, its a similar style and it looks heaps better, maybe a higher model perhaps.

The only trend I dont like is having the T bar so high, if your going to do that then bugger it, IMO have it almost vertical in the dash if you want to make more room.

Why do you prefer a gate instead of a button on shifter?

The only other thing I can see when looking at that first pic is how many little pockets there are for dirt/dust to get trapped..

Journos blasted the shift buttons on the gearknob in the new Focus as absolutely useless and fiddly. If they gave them such a bad review why have they continued to try to implement them?

It will just result in more negative comments in the future. Its not to late to delete them in future models.

hard for me to criticize a car that is not made to appeal to me anyway. It's one of those cars that is made to blend in with other boring cars.

All that comes to my mind is UGLY. Really don't like where these interiors are going.
