Default au series 1 cold problem

hi got meself a series 1 xr8

sometimes when cold and i go into drive the motor starts to knock a bit and the idle dies? would that be the idle solenoid??

im starting to get some niggly faults on it heater switch is broken the clip that holds the flap cable on has snapped, the rear passenger door lock has snapped the worm gear too so its always locked, i can live with that though
and the lugs holding the drivers window switch has snapped too so sometimes the window stays down until ya belt it and then its fine

looks like a big trip to the wreckers sometimes soon

but with the faut goin into drive might give the trans oil a change any tips for doing this on the driveway i can jack it up ok to drop the pan and do the filter but is there any tips to refill the box the hole couldnt be in a more awkward place aye.

also it sounds like i have a cold sticky lifter when i start the car it ticks away for about 3 to 4 minuites until they have started to warm a bit then it runs quiet and nice

time for a nice new cam and some lifters too then

at least the rear shocks top mounts are fine

to fill trans use a 1 litre tranny bottle or similar and attach a length of hose preferably clear sealed well and squeeze fluid into box try to get bottle as high as possible and refill bottle as necessary.

I went and bought a hand pump bottle from bursons to do my tranny it has a flexible hose and a spout on it at the time it cost me about $20 makes it easy to fill, I also use it to top up the diff if needed.
