I gave this guy everything he needed, basically did his job for him by supplying the model number of the saw, part number of the filter, but no, that was too hard. I found the correct OEM filter online in less the 60-seconds and had it ordered and paid for within 90-seconds. The support local thing is complete bullsh.t. It just rewards stupidity, laziness and incompetence.

The Honda dealer is, for the most part outstanding.
The Stihl dealer(s) have kinda burnt themselves for me, one I simply wont walk into again because the owner is, to be polite, an owner-operator, and the other charges for an airbag for *every* part they order in big or small and then it takes 2 weeks for the part to come in, keep minimal basic parts on the shelf (no E-clips for chainsaw clutch drums, said he didnt have an air filter on the shelf for an MS211, only service kits), and seem unable to quote. The sad thing is, I've asked 3 other dealers to quote on things and I'm sti(h)l waiting weeks later.

My local Stihl dealers are equally as hopeless, as soon as I say I need the parts for a Dolmar, they clam up and cant help. Even after I give them the specifics of the Stihl part I want, still cant/wont help (Chain and sprockets, generic parts).

I don't seem to have a problem with my local Stihl / John Deere dealer, always helpful and easy to order parts from.

…That fast food seems to foster even more slackness?
I’ve just watched Police drive into a pedestrian area of the Hornsby Mall so a rather corpulent officer in the passenger seat of their divvy van can walk the ten metres into Subway for their order. Bloke needed a treadmill, not a sandwich. No further business there - he got back in and they drove out the Mall. Plus (IMO) it’s taking away the opportunity for officers to be seen walking, in the middle of everyone else - perhaps making them seem more approachable. |

As you would probably know, the old Stihl dealer here was on High Street in the middle of town. They were quite a big dealer, very good service, carried parts, helpful. Going back 20+ years, they lost the Stihl distribution and changed to Echo. The local John Deere dealer then took on Stihl...................and then the problems started. Initially, the Stihl side of the store was too small, and the workshop was shared with the John Deere, which is a very different set of skills dealing with a $500,000 tractor compared to a 2-stroke chainsaw. They later got their own store(s) and workshop. In defense, the Stihl manager is very good at his job, knows the product back to front and will go out of his way to help commercial customers. But if you don't get him, you end up with one of the other staff members who are just there to sell new machines. Once you move beyond buying a new tool, its confusion city. Maybe I should ask for a job, show them how to do it? No wonder these companies are loving the transition to battery electric, there is virtually no service and repairs other than consumables. "Yeah, nah, can't be repaired, just chuck it away and buy a new one."

Trailer jockey wheels, 10”.
Solid tyre versions use a 5/8” axle. Pneumatic versions use a 3/4” axle. So you can’t readily put a solid tyre wheel on a jockey setup that was originally pneumatic! ![]() |

Do you always put you undies on right leg through first ? How about your pants/jeans to follow ? Do you do the same with putting on socks ?

I'm one of those sinister left handed people. Those the left leg first, left arm first and left sock first as well. Left boot also.

Same applies we all would have a a specific way/process with the towel we dry ourselves after a shower. roK never thought you to be cacky handed right ? see that ![]() Ira, I'm ambidextrous also, write throw bowl kick LH bat golf tennis RH. I went to my first ever Axe throwing place in Briz Monday night, I originally was having trouble to figure which side works best ?! never had that before. I ended up happy going RH after a few practice goes never tried the LH - amazed I got to the semi's out of 30people. I still wonder why I go right leg first put on my undies etc balance I guess. The physiotherapist has discovered I have more strength and flexibility on my left side than my right side, which I was not aware of. Sort of explains why I have trouble walking in a straight line, which can be a bit embarrassing at times. |

Did it still run when they condemned it?
Reason I ask, the blowers have a habit of backing out three bolts behind the flywheel, which then grinds the flywheel and eventually locking it up. Up until it locks up, the engine will still run, but its will feel terrible when trying to pull it over and sounds like something is broken in the crankcase. ![]() This is in relation to the 27.2cc engines they use in all of the home-owner tools such as the trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers. To fix, remove the flywheel and tighten the bolts back up, a dab of thread locker wouldn't hurt either. Oh, and this is your conrod, super strong looking isn't it....................... ![]()
