Lets bloody hope so.

Some European countries have deferred all mortgage repayments until further notice.

Cash is king. Probably a good idea to have a couple grand in cash available.

Yes and no. I've heard of some stores no longer accepting cash, only card payments.

I guess it's to reduce contact.

When the stores close down, cash is king on the street.

Sex is OK as well

I've been told off at work for trying to shake a new guys hand when introducing myself.

People are taking the disinfectant thing a bit too seriously.

I'm calling the CoronaVirus hotline (1800 020 080) right now about my son.
He came home late Sunday with a cough and lots of sneezing.
The sneezing made us think its more a cold than anything else.
But its now over 48hours later, he still has the cough and sneezing, though both have dropped off to a degree. I wouldn't describe him having a fever but he is warm (warm last 2 days here too).
He is home with me for now, I'm pretty keen to see a bigger improvement.

Meanwhile I've been on hold for 1 hour, 7 minutes and counting

Work for me has pretty much dried up. I hear more and more that they may completely shut down the sydney cbd and only allow essential services for greater sydney for 14 days. If that happens, im off for 2 weeks due to no clients being open. My mum is currently off work due to closure as the courts arent doing new trials at the moment. Dunno which genius decided it was a good idea to put it in the paper, but the police have stopped the booze busses due to exposure risks. They can still bring out the breatho if you get pulled over roadside.

Social distancing = “Just far cough”?

Still got so much work as I want, two jobs within 100m of the house.

Besides a baby boom, if people who normally enjoy time apart are in isolation together too much - it might also fragment some relationships...

Don't have a thermometer here at home.
Time to grab next chemist visit.

He's not got sweats or chills, just a little warm on the forehead.
Havent heard a cough for over an hour.

Oh, and just to let people know ...... the hotline had my on hold for 1 hr 57 minutes.
Advice was (according to Gov outlines) Unlikely to be CV19. Monitor and ring GP if symptoms worsen.
Pretty much what we thought, but I feel better having spoken to someone, and they agreed.

I'm working from home, so have him close by

I go weekly to RPA Sydney for Cancer treatment - developed cold/flu symptoms during last week - most likely I brought it up from the sth coast. The specialist/doctors wanted me tested/swabbed, so I went to the clinic set up there for that - big throughput I noticed (they were busy), mainly healthcare workers, didn't notice a lot of elderly people.
Getting tested was quite political - my medicos insisted, the testing medicos said not required as I didn't fit some/all criteria, overseas travel, contact with COVID-19 positive person. I ended up being tested, and admitted overnight as I couldn't self isolate for 24hrs til results come back. Ended up being only Rhinovirus (Common Cold).
Only thing is I guess if I was positive - how would you trace back my people contact since it was multiple public transport/buses/trains, etc ?

i don,t get why its political for testing, someone here posted a video about how the s Koreans did good, the Koreans say they tested 1000,s and drive through testing too. and 5 hours later there is a result. even WHO is saying "test, test, test"

the govco are saying isolate etc., and not erring as well, to a personal concern and get tested, i don,t understand?

I believe South Korea tested some 600,000 people.

In reality, just over 1% of the population.

This is very interesting to watch.... From 5 years ago.

Bill Gates on TED back in 2015, "The next outbreak? We’re not ready".

Hmm... A few days ago he steps down from the board of Microsoft.

He is also rumoured to be buying a $600M Hydrogen powered super Yatch.
... The high seas seems a safe haven?

Does he know more than we think with his "modelling" he talks about in the second video.

The next outbreak? We’re not ready

Find a friend/relo with a lemon tree, you can make a lot happen with that and some basics. Get spring onions and plant them in a pot of dirt, harvest the greens only.

A new experience in dinner every night in my bogan arsed way of living. When I ran a HVAC company I had no work in autumn or late spring, so I used to cook a lot as a hobby. When I was a single dad I had to scrape by on a low budget and used that earlier cooking experience to please a kids palate with something also cheap and healthy.

So I can wrangle up recipes easy and often working with what I've got on hand, but because I was self employed and then a stay at home dad the past 12 years no one will hire me now LOL. So it's food for one now and anything goes

No supply problem with most goods. Never seen an issue with fresh fruit and veg, or any other department store items.
It's solely panic hoarding by FBtards that believe any crap they read. It started with toilet paper FFS! Should have bought a cheap made in China bidet before China shut down.

Start a lie and so many stupid people will act on it if it's on social media because that's all they pay attention to. The stuff on social media is way worse than the legit stuff. And people trust their 'peers' on social media way more than they trust the mainstream media.

Mainstream media was pushing for urgent action and they were right. Now we in Australia are being reactive and cutting things after the horse has bolted, being conservative. The useful media was saying things like cut/enforce self isolation on international travel from all countries, but the gutless gov only did China. There's been useful suggestions from the mainstream media that only consult experts and double check so they aren't only relying on useless politicians or lib cronies. Social media says useless things like buy all the toilet paper you can.

I really REALLY hope and pray that the deniers and those calling “chicken little” are correct with their prophesies!
BUT, what if you’re NOT?
This isn’t just Australia spruiking your so called “media fear”!..
So far 140 countries are infected World feckin wide! Are they ALL part of this massive conspiracy??
Where I live, even though our numbers are low at 41 infected, zero deaths (SO far) it has been taken incredibly seriously! (As it has in the rest of Central America) Borders closed, bars, nightclubs, farmers markets and most social gatherings totally shut down!
This will be absolutely devastating for an economy like Costa Rica that’s so reliant on tourism... WHY would they commit economic suicide, if they didn’t believe the threat to be genuine???
As for my earlier post on possible Australian fatalities... This was released by Australia’s Deputy Chief Medical Officer... Not conjured up by some sensationalistic 2nd rate newspaper!
You guys shunning all the suggested public advice about social distancing and interaction guidelines with others (because you’ve heard it’s all a “con” and/or doesn’t affect your age group) Is just plain bloody selfish, and possibly even DEADLY to the rest of the population!
You want to take that risk???
I’m one of the biggest conspiracy theorists, and was also a doubter when this Coronavirus thing first broke...
Not anymore! These are dire, history changing times people!
Treat it seriously at your own peril!!!

I've got a good idea, if YOU are part of the group that the Chinese virus effects then YOU can self isolate and stay inside away from the rest of us as we go about our day to day lives.

Take some personal responsibility for your own health and well-being if it's going to effect you so badly.

There's 7.8 billion people on this planet, we could use a good clean out, Chinese virus doing it's bit for climate change by reducing world overpopulation.

Nope - the group who is saying feck everyone else is the tiny percentage of our population who this effects demanding the rest of society stops their lives.

They're causing irreparable damage to our economy, did anyone ask any if our casually employed hospitality staff who are on the knife edge of losing their meal tickets?

We're a first world, rich, DEMOCRACY and like **** I will be having my freedoms infringed upon because of a minority group wants everyone else to bend to their will.

All this talk about Australia having worse medical facilities than the 'joke of Europe' Italy? Whose fault is that? Not mine that's for sure.

The irony is this effects the parts of the community who run the show and call the shots - how fitting!

Maybe they shouldn't have allowed our health system to become such a joke - now it effects them they want everyone else to give up their livelihoods and lives to stay indoors to help keep them alive.

Go live in China if you want to have this ridiculous assertion of a 'lockdown', you can join the 2 million Muslims they've got undergoing 'education' in 'school'.

Interested to know mate, coming from someone who has lost a parent young and two of my best mates, along with plenty of other mates.

If someone close to you keeled over tomorrow from the virus would you change your current outlook? If your parents died tomorrow would you still think the same.

Personally unless you are heartless I think you would change your outlook, but from experience you never actually know how you will feel until it happens.

If i was told I have a 1 in 100 chance in dying and that i should just take the risk i'd be saying to get stuffed. I'll be doing all I can to not be one of those 100.

Hey Franco, I'm 70 and to make matters worse my grandmother was half Chinese, so I think I am in big trouble of being susceptible to the Chinese virus so me and my dog are holed up watching reruns on TV because from last accounts the virus is closing in - it is now only a 7-hour drive away from us.

The good news is that I'll probably survive and then when "my people" take over Australia (we own half of it already) youse blokes will have that smirk wiped off ya face.
