Default How do you remove the Fuel sender casing lid?

I want to check if the wire connections are loose connecting to the fuel sender unit but dont know how to lift that round black thingie that the wires go to on top of tank in boot...(Im asuming thats where the sender unit actually is located)....Its such a pain having your DTE and Guage reading empty at all times even when tank is full...If anyone can direct me on how to get into it or any other posts that may help...Thanks

3 flathead screw drivers.

One on each side in the little slots on the outside and one to twist it off (it's a screw cap).

Its like its been glued down real well with a black rubber looking seal...There are no little slots at all on it to even put a screw driver into??

So you haven't got the top cover plate off yet then.

A big flathead screwdriver will be needed to pry that off as it is sikaflexed down. You will bend it but don't worry, a rubber mallet gets it back into shape.
