Default Help!!!!!

gday guys my series III xr8 au is playing up. the problem happens when a whine come from the motor alot like a supercharger, the car then looses alot of of power and dropping cylinders misses and carrys on. this happens very randomly sometimes high rpm mid rpm and low rpm with and without load

Have you done the usual ie checked/changed spark plugs, checked/changed fuel filter, checked/changed leads?

Leads and plugs have been changed. About 5 codes come up relating to do with everything coil packs but like I said only happens when supercharger sounding noise comes from the motor

I am with Mif. Sounds like a cam sync, with the exact same behavior I experience when I stipped a cam gear (that drives the cam sync).

Muzza, cam sync is the under your coil pacs on a AU V8. It is where your distributor would be if it where in an older car.

This is him:


Your best option would probablly to import one from the US and have a mechanic fit it up for you (half hour job).

This one is known worker on our engines.

Thankyou to everyone who helped ended up replacing cam sync and harmonic as that was on its way out too. The car is like brand new smooth as a new car and power has increased significantly so cheers guys much appreciated
