Default AU1 Fairmont shock absorbers and wheels

Hi,

The Au1.5 Fairmont (oct 99) has done 120k now and looking to potentially change the shocks. I was hoping for better ride than the standard original shocks and a small improvement in handling. What do people recommend?

It currently has the standard 15" rims. I look occasionally on ebay and here for Ford BA to FG 17" rims. If I find the right one I assume the offset is the same in the new models. Going from 15" to 17" with the right profile tyre it won't affect the speedo?

Thanks

better ride and better handling your only going to get from a shock like bilstien or koni. You get what you pay for really. I have KYB AGX and they're good for the price.

As for wheels i wouldnt be 100 on offset but as you say if the rolling diameter is the same or close then going to 17's should be fine pretty sure there were 17's available for au's
