Default FG MK II New Colours

Hey guys,

With new series 2 FG there are some new colours.

We will be replacing a series 1 for series 2 G6E (fathers vehicle). Currently colour of awesome Ego.

My question, does anyone have picture of a G6E in smoke as my dad doesn't like the dark blue in Edge.

Cheers all

Your best bet for pics of the FG2 at the moment is probably carsales, or getting on down to a dealer.

If could do that, I would be vey grateful!

Also if you have any other new colours, could take pictures of them also? I'm sure other people would appreciate it!

That is the best I can do! The green is called Swift and isn't available yet, not until at least March. Nitro has been deleted from MKII.

deleting nitro??? geez they love deleting the most popular colours. i guess its good for desirability and resale of the FG but not so good for those wanting a nitro FG2.

I wasn't happy either, it is an old colour, but a good colour, since 2008 I think? Kinetic is the replacement, but it is a very dark blue, nothing like Nitro. Metallic light blue has always worked for Ford, remember the Tickford T3 in Neo I think it was? Awesome!

agree, metallic light blue has always been successful. blueprint was easily the most popular colour in b series until they canned that. nitro was a fg colour, not a carryover colour so seems strange to discontinue it after one model.

sunburst also a great colour, as was breeze etc.

Pah! Bring back the creatively named far out colours of yesteryear!!
Strike Me Pink! Lone Oranger! Chrome Yellow! Plum Crazy! Chateau Mauve! Purr Pull! Barracuda Green! Lettuce Alone! Ultra Violet! Little Hood Riding Red! Turbine Bronze! Vitamin C! Green Go! And more recently, Acid Rush!

...and that's just a few that spring to mind...I'm sure there's more.

I think we have started a few threads regarding Falcon colours before! BA-BF had some great colours back in the day, the yard used to look like a lolly jar!

Blueprint on the T3.

I thought Kinetic was basically the same as Nitro just a shade or 2 darker?

I've seen 2 or 3 Swift coloured paint test vehicles at work, it looks ok, a bit like Envi but a little darker, like an army green.

Narh Kinetic is like the old Shockwave colour. Yeah Swift is ok, I'm not sure if we will sell a lot of it.

At both Ford and Holden I had dealers say that the trend now was, if not silver (which I find pretty bland), to go for darker colours as they "imply prestige".
But at Holden we could easily see the car that everyone stopped and looked at was the extremely bright yellow SV6 they had out front, and at Ford everyone looked at a very bright blue XR6, "thier most popular demo car" we were told...don't they kind of take notice of what people are attracted to? I'll admit the Edge colour suits our G6E, but the brighter colours are much more striking.

I reckon having the number plate fitted will break it up and soften it a bit.

Silver - I've never understood it. If you ever wanted to dull the look of a car, silver will do the job. They always seem to sell for less 2nd hand too.

That's interesting regarding the yellow / bright blue. I think you'll find that most people will be attracted to the bright colours but see them as too controversial to actually own. Most worry about what others will think of them and would rather not attract attention. As silly as it sounds it's very true.

Breeze was a fantastic colour in the B-series, but strangely it didn't seem to gel well with the FG shape. It never ceases to amaze me how the shape of a vehicle can determine how good the colour looks on the vehicle.

Funny you should say that, I like seeing B series breeze coloured cars, but my mate has an FG XR6T in breeze and it just doesn't do it for me.

What are all the colours of the FG Falcon and from the start and when changers came month year etc.
I like that maroon and that dark greene blue?
I hate that bog silver.

Some of the new colours look good when new but it looses that nice shine fast and then it just looks dull and bland within 6 months or so.

I stole this kinetic FG pic from the "Show us your FG" thread. Looks very similar to Nitro I must say.

I did like the Steel colour but it disappeared midway through the FG phase. Not sure what Breeze looks like.

I got the Steel Blue one. The salesman was talking about how rare it is. Pretty soon after buying it, i started spotting them EVERYWHERE!!

Really not a fan of the FG MKII...it looks too much like a Fiesta or Focus now.

I wasn't a massive fan of Nitro, thought looked alright, but much prefer Kinetic from that picture.

Just like I said earlier, Kinetic looks similar to Nitro, just a shade or 2 darker.

Not really like Shockwave which is another few shades darker again.

Global front end coming out of Europe by the looks of it.

Starting to look more like the Mondeo, Focus and Festiva. Interestingly when you look at the Ranger which looks (to me) more American than European.
