Default Hyundai Accents

Hey everyone,
I'm wondering what people who own or have driven late model ('06-'08) Hyundai Accents think of them. I used to own a '02 Accent, and I have to say, for running costs, servicing and resale vs what I paid for it etc... it was pretty good. I know that these cars are a "throw away" sort of vehicle, no offense intended to anyone, but I'm looking at getting a run-about so I don't have to use the GT-P as a daily driver, since giving the ute back to my work. I would love another BA or even a AU, but for price and kms on clock, I might look at a Hyundai again. The other good thing is that if I look at a '07 model, which I can get for roughly 9-10k, it would still have 3 years of warranty on it. The newer ones seem to have a fair bit more features on them than my '02 had. Just wondering what they are like, I presume that they would average about 6.5l/100kms too, which would be good too seeing as I'm doing about 700kms a week.
Cheers,
Greg.

Thirty five bucks usually sees around 400km's worth of driving.

Good honest cars.

I own a 04 Elantra, my brother in law owns a 02 Accent. Good prices for parts, reliable and well built for the price.

Pretty good cars actually (sorta 05ish onwards) for the money you pay for them. Everything about them is cheap (insurance, parts, etc etc) And they arent a pain in the ar$e to work on! The auto's pretty good, i had a decent drive in an 06 accent, and to be honest it felt alot like a toyota corolla, only with a bit of a tacky interior. Would make a decent daily drive.

My ex car was hyundai elantra. There is 2 different type of hyundai's. one of them is korean built. the other one is american built. my one was american built. It is not very powerful but it was like a rock. If you compare it to the corolla, it was much better. Missus drives her know.

Nothing wrong with an Accent. If you were happy with your 02 model I am sure you will be happy with a newer one. They arent the best things to look at though. I had a new 2000 model excel back when I was at uni and I thought it was an excellent first car. Everyone bags the Excels but it served its purpose well for me and I had NO problems with it in 120000km unlike the Fords I have owned. Hyundais have only improved since then.

A newer Accent would be great as a daily especially if it is still under warranty, which I bet you wont need anyway. Depending on your driving, I cant see why 6.5l/100kms isnt achievable. Maybe 7ish.
