Thanks russel that picture is better then mine (only just!). Yeah from pulling out the cluster with the allen keys it seperated the mask from the lens around the edges. Then when the lights are on you can see a rign of light around the outside. I can't seem to get them back together and I dont know which one needs replacing so I guess its best to replace them both.

Thanks again

Oh russ that part number is it for the high or low series cluster, just wondering cause the pic you attached is of the high series.

Russ, is the lower grille part of the T3 interchangeable with placing it on the XR's? If so, what is the part number and price?

As far as I know it isn't interchangeable.

Tau 10849 A Instrument Cluster, (te50 Or Ts50 Or Tl50) $1213.00
Tau2 10849 A Instrument Cluster, Xr, Less Police Pack $431.00
Tau2 10849 B Instrument Cluster, Xr, With Police Pack $435.00
Tau2 10849 F Instrument Cluster, (te50 Or Ts50 Or Tl50) $589.00

Could someone make sense of this for me? Is this telling me the AU1 T-Series cluster is twice the price of the S2/3? Why would this be the case?

Also out of all the clusters is there an AU high series with police pack?

Yes it is twice the price - S3 clusters reverted to an XR style cluster as part of the cost cutting exercise that saw the prices reduced - that is to say it had the blue background and graphics where the S1 had the white faced instruments. Don't be fooled by the TAU2 part number - it was actually the S3 cluster.

You can buy white faces for the XR Clusters. Then just put the blue globes in, and it will be like the T1 Cluster

A dash pocket. For when you remove the double din stereo in the AU's and fit a single one. It's that pocket thing that fills the empty space.

Are the repro AU1 bonnets (as in, those which fit an XR) all rubbish, or are there any worth looking at?

Don't fancy my chances of finding a clean Liquid Silver bonnet any time soon. Rust has destroyed the other one from the inside out, front lip and 3" back.

Yeah, Forte & Futura, and I think XR's, AUI's had single din radio's, then series II & III went to double din.

Except the AUI update models. They copped the double din.

Also thanks Russ & Normell. I will check that part # with Ford this week and see if it's the one I'm looking for.

Ahh so the AU1 Forte / Futura and possibly XR, interesting. Will have to remember that when I want to change the HU in the Ghia.

ER 18846 A1 ESCUTCHEON RADIO, DK GRAPHITE - BASE RADIO, FORTE - it's about $17 and was only used on the Forte as far as I can tell.

Cheers

Is that in warm charcoal or just black? When I got my HU installed, I don't think they got the actual factory one off Ford, so I might change em.

Mine was charcoal, so painted it with satin black.
Ford sells a shit load to joints like Strathfield, JB Etc.

It's actually Dark Graphite rather than Warm Charcoal.
