Other than cooking, what do you use olive oil for?
Modern medicine is a wonderous thing. I was recently amazed when a highly qualified specialist (doc) instructed me to soak my feet in plain olive oil. Fresh meat marinating in foil trays, the makings of a great BBQ  |

I use it for just about everything, I cook with it all the time. When straining hot cooked pasta, add a very small amount of olive oil to the pasta after the water has drained and stir - this stops the pasta from sticking together. Especially nice if you use garlic infused olive oil.
Also important to note that the oldest woman to ever live, Jean Calmet, who lived to be 122, put olive oil on just about everything she ate and on her skin - she attributed it to helping her live so long. I have no need to use it on my skin, it is greasy enough as it is

I use olive oil for a lot of things...
Cooking - in the pasta water, the pasta sauce, I find it tastes better than canola oil. Pet Health - if your cat has furballs, bit of olive oil on their food, works a treat. Shiny coat for your dog? Put a spoonful of olive oil in with their food. Beauty - I use it as a body scrub - add some sea salt, some lemon and lavender oils (or any oil you want), gets rid of dead skin, fantastic for your feet. In winter when my hair gets a little bit dry, I add some essential oils to olive oil and pretty much use it as a 'hair mask' - ten minutes on the hair, wash out with relatively hot water after a nice scalp massage (stops split ends, gives it a nice shine). Once again, in winter, or if your hands are particularly dry - olive oil around the cuticles will soften them right up. You can spray oil into the bottom of a bucket before mixing up plaster, it will stop it from drying in the bottom of the bucket and make it easier to clean the bucket. At a pinch you can use it as a wood polish or a leather polish. Oh, and if you have paint on your skin, it can get rid of that too with a little bit of rubbing...

.......but i cannot get the picture of your feet soaking in it out of my head so that may change now.....

I use it mainly just for cooking purposes; but I've just done a quick Google search and wow some of its uses have opened my eyes!

I'm definitely surprised by some of the uses.
I couldn't imagine using it as hair gel. Quote:

If I had a VN, I'd use it in the engine as it would be cheaper than motor oil.
And oil's oil, right? :P

Had a doctor tell us to use on baby for cradle cap and peeling. Would of thought baby oil is for babies but not so. Told me olive oil's not for olives either. Didn't wanna ask where johnson and johnson get the baby oil from.
