Default Cruise broken? Check brake lights!

Just a tip for anyone else who strikes this...

My cruise control stopped working while it was engaged one day - ie just disengaged and I was coasting along and wouldnt even display the 'cruise' on the instrument cluster any more.

Anyway, turns out the problem was that the fuse for my brake lights had blown.

The cruise control is hooked up to a lot of things. It is also connected to the "Horn" fuse as well. If this is blown, your cruise won't work.

Good tip though!

Had this myself just before Christmas, the brake lights were blown, fuse ok. Replaced the bulbs and "voila" hello cruise!

In fact it was someone here that put me onto it.

Go forums!
