Post Peter Brocks Childhood Home Sold for $893K

The weatherboard childhood home of King of the Mountain, the late racing legend Peter Brock, has sold at auction for $893,000.

Three bidders fought it out for the home in Victoria's leafy Hurstbridge, exceeding the guide of $750,000 to $820,000.

The listing makes mention of the property's Brock connection, which helped drum up interest prior to auction. It's reported a local couple had the winning bid.

The last time the home sold was back in 2006 for $337,500.

The cottage has had modern upgrades but retains plenty of charm. (Domain)
The three-bedroom home "offers delightful family living perfect for those looking to enjoy life in the slow lane," the listing cheekily says.

Set on a decent 634 square metre block, the home enjoys character features like a bull nose verandah, block mounted switches, decorative cornice and tessellated tiles.
