Dedicated off road version on the cards ?

http://www.caradvice.com.au/359311/2...sting-locally/

Come to think of it , considering how much people spend on 4WD accessories - a dedicated off road factory edition with decent lift ,snorkel , bull bar and diff locks might be a worthy excercise for manufaturer looking to expand the niche. Sell it as it basic setup - would be easier to insure as well.

True. Every second proper 4x4 on the road has mods done to it. Wonder if it would be harder for them to pass all the safety tests they have to pass with bullbars, lift kit, etc.

Ford Ranger Raptor? Unless they are throwing in a 5L Coyote or the 3.5L Ecoboost they shouldn't go near that name no matter how many 'offroad' accessories they throw at it.

Looks good, not a fan of the Wildtrack with its roof rails.

If it's anything like the current version the base XL will be the best looking of the range (in my eyes).

I wonder if ford are going to do a 2 door Jeep based on the Ranger. Very short wheelbase Ranger mule in Thailand ( looks like a dual cab or space cab tray)

Bull bars maybe not worth it......aftermarket developers can recover the costs by selling the bars for 20 years. Ford....about 2 yrs. love the idea of a beefed up version that can be optioned up at least. Perhaps partnering with the like of ARB....like they do with Ftrucks n Harley.

Why not? Raptor is a pretty new name. Wouldn't exactly be diluting much history. Taking advantage of a good name on a world class truck tho.....that's not that bad an idea. As long as it's not a sticker pack of course. But I'd imagine it doesn't need to be Dakar ready as the Ftrucks raptor is as the Ranger is a light truck compared

I love the look of of the new one compared to the current one.

The current one to me looks dopey eyed where this one looks mean eyed if you get my drift
