I dont think an xr should have a GT kit but i still might do it.

Mate an BA XR6 is a nice looking and powerfull car IMO, by your thinking you should be driving a Festiva.
It was not so long ago that all the factory V8's had less than 182kw, so are you saying a car is too powerfull only if it has more power than yours ?

Nah, all im trying to say is that power isnt really a condition of having a nice looking car...

Alot of people seem to have the idea that to dress a car up you have to make it go hard first, when really you don't.. You know the ole saying all show no go, well thats how alot of people see it.

Its individualized a little though. It doesn't have the bulge and it has different coloured highlights, different mesh and a different spoiler. Plus its a turbo and its got the balls to match the kit :

Still looks good though - the point is, it's not an XR kit, so the point about it being a DJR or GT kit is irrelevant. Basically, it's trying to look like a car that it's not, and it does so very, very nicely!

technically, no....its actually the C2R aftermarket upgrade kit for the BA XR series.....then they decided that they'd use it for the DJR....it does have some differences though i think....the spoiler for 1.

I can't agree with you at all on that. One of the guys in my club owns a BA XR that has GT kit fitted, minus wing, and it is possibly the hottest looking BA around (no, not because of the body kit alone).

There's nothing wrong with fitting what you consider to be a better looking bodykit. The only time I think someone is a clown, is when they try and convince everybody they own a GT, when it isn't.

Hell.....I have XR stuff on my Ghia.....nothing wrong with that, as long as I don't bullshit about it.

If I owned an XR6, I would rice it up to look like the real thing. Oh hangon, I already have a riced up XR6. Power to the people.

Time to build a bridge people. This arguement is getting old.

I think people need to realise that they're doing up their car for themselves, not the general public. If it tickles your fancy, do it, ragardless of what others think.

I wouldn't do it, but that doesn't mean that the rest of you shouldn't.

Enjoy your cars people.

Agreed, this argument is getting VERY old.
Do to your car as you choose... and accept that not everyone will like it, regardless of what you do.
Bucky is right, each to their own. He and I have similar cars however he has gone for looks, I have gone for power. So who's in the right?
Noone is. At the car shows, his makes mine look very ordinary... at the drags it would be the other way around.

So lets all move on and just deal with it. Your car, your choice. Jsmilie:

After voting "no way Jose!" I had a bit of a think and realised I'm jumping the gun here... carratt seems to have summed up my revised opinion.

It's one thing to do up a car with higher-spec bodykits, etc, but to claim one's car is something that it isn't (ie aforementioned badges), this will leave the owner open to ridicule.

However the KFC V8 Supercar "Cardboard-Fibre Wing" Volvo will always rule supreme :evilking:

Yeah it looks good, but also you dont wanna look like a try-hard by doing the whole lot. I actually wanted to put the gt front bar on my car but then the typhoons came out with them so changed my mind, i dont want it to look like i am trying to make it look like i have a typhoon. My sister had a xr6t when they first came out and put a gt rear spoiler on it and it made it stand out alot more from everyone elses. there are a few aftermarket body kits around. Like i said gt body kits do look good but....
