The interesting thing about the car is that it comes with a PDA controlling a heap of functions, and xenon driving lights. The stripe is an interesting idea, not sure how it would look in reality but it's a safety feature of sorts.

it really seems like holden and hsv are subtily trying to copy ford, first it was the monoro bonnet scoop things instead of the ford bulge, now its reflective stripes instead of the fpv GT stripes, try again HSV.

Looks as ugly as the rest of the range, I really think the latest bodykits look them look cheap and nasty. I'd wouldn't even bother getting in it if it was a taxi

when you say controlling do you mean you can configure the car? I was under the assumption that it was just for information purposes.

i.e - fuel/air ratio, engine temps and other relatively useless stuff. Bit of a
:jerk: factor really.

I reckon its a good idea really.. **** factor or not.. Some people will love the idea of knowing A/F ratios etc.. especially once they start modding them..

actually im pretty sure the scoop things were the result of the american market, they wanted it to look similar to a pontiac....

BINGO!! yep they were heavily influenced by the yanks. call it cost cutting if you will. no point making a different bonnet for export only.

Hmm interesting, didnt notice the reflective stuff in the marketing..... I think there are some changings coming to Australia soon with how indicators / brake lights work, maybe this is another safety idea, im not sure...

I personally think its a nice car, even tho the Z series shape along with the Y series is a bit out there it does look nice and refreshed... Also nice to see you can get Xexon headlamps, too bad Ford wouldn't offer the same....

Yeah i saw it at the MMS last night. Didnt do much for me, it has a sahdowtone yellow on the wheels as well, looks like overspray to me.

Just a quick observation, the Ford stand had a lot more people looking at their cars than the Holden stand, that Super Pursuit was pulling the crowds, you couldnt get near it.

If HSV/Holden were copying Ford, then Ford would be way out infront, yes?

Mark, in regards to looking the same, well thats just your opinion, and you know what opinions are like!!!!!! I think Holden/Hsv are like, 'if where onto to a good thing why change it dramatically'. Whats this about valve issues, I've heard nothing???? Have you been going undercover at Fishermans Bend and Clayton spying on 6.0L testing. :

It would be alot cooler if it came with a bit better then the same 297kW 530Nm LS2 as every other HSV has. May actually make it worth buying over a Clubsport R8.

One thing, sorry if its a bit off topic, that interests me, is that despite being the exact same car, GT-P has always been slower then the GT. Does the P stand for Pig?

Back on topic, I wonder if the SV6000 is any faster around a track then a Clubsport R8.. it supposedly is.

Isn't that a funny comment to make when the two fastest BA's sedans on the quarter to date are GT-P's : :togo:

no, er i dont understand, it doesnt really matter who has more sales, ford is still a huge threat to holden - GT stripes and bonnet bulge have been hugely popular, even alot of people who love holdens love the bulge and stripes. a good idea is a good idea, doesnt matter who its from.

Wasnt the whole FPV a copy of the HSV setup? who gives a toss about stripes and bulges? to bag a car that has a reflective stripe and say its copying ford is silly, when essentially, this is the pinnicle of australian performance cars, which to date, ford hasnt got an answer too...
