Default Au2 xr8 engine questions

I currently have a au2 xr8 with hand built tickford motor

It has a vortech supercharger and it's currently getting new head gaskets
Done.

Is it worth me looking into new heads while its apart?

Am I going to notice any gains and if I look into new heads
Will I need anything else??

Thanks it's a little new to me

Yeah mate definitely, some nice afr or trickflow alloy heads will get more hp,maybe some arp headstuds for more clamping force.
Post in the windsor section youll get some good answers there.

AFR 185cc heads part number 1492. Pedestal mount versions shoukd allow you to transfer a lit of the components from your existing setup.

Won't the 185's have PTV issues with the bigger inlet valves? Or cause the cam is still stock it will be ok?

With the standard camshaft that won't be a drama. You won't need any extra parts beyond what is needed for a normal head gasket change, with boost I'd recommend ARP studs over bolts. You may require new pushrods to get the lifter preloads spot on, but not 100% certainty. Use the Felpro PT9333 head gaskets, and 1250S3 intake gaskets.

Without knowing cam specs then using the AFR185 head could be a problem. The valve reliefs in the factory pistons might not be large enough for the 2.02" inlet valve.
