Default When the expense of two cars just isn't enough

Hi all,

I'm pleased to announce i have further strengthened my AU-ness and have purchased another for the somewhat limited stable area i have here. I pick her up tonight and will update then.

The EL is getting long in the tooth and very grumpy, and is no longer suited to daily work in the traffic we have to put up with here. It is being retired and will go into storage shortly for that magical time down the road in everyone's mind when one things he'll have heaps of extra cash to restore old cars.

So true to form, i have posted an annoying thread beforehand which will turn into (or at least link to) the build thread later on after pickup. You people seem to like hedging bets on what i've bought 'this time' so away you go:

What did i buy?

cheers fellow weirdos

Chris.

Given it's a 'weekender' as per your sig, I'm going to say an XR8 or T-series of some description. Hopefully an AU3 so it gets the 220kw or 5.6L...

Toyota Echo. Not sure how I feel about being referred to as 'you people' and 'weirdo' in the same sentence.

You'll get over it. Guess is close but not quite.

"you people" = AFF, as the E series guys always got on my case as soon as i bought another one of them also, as did the b-series guys
"weirdo" is a compliment

don't see the problem there

You have to be weird to own an AU, that's just the way it is. And that's a good thing. Normal people are boring. I own two now so i'm over the top weird.

Hope its another E series

honestly what the hell are you talking about? go cry in another thread, i couldn't care less what you hope it is. For someone always dropping smart-**** comments you have paper-thin skin. And i rarely wave the mod-stick at all, so another pearler of an irrelevant comment there.

let me translate for you, a second time: "I LIKE AU's A LOT, THIS MAKES ME IN THE MINORITY ON AFF THEREFORE I MUST BE WEIRD" It's known as sarcasm which everyone else here got.

Can we move on now?

Hey Chris, if it is not an AU, we may as well close the thread considering where you have posted it!

I believe that it is posted in this very area is a big hint to what it might be??? XR or T is the big question?

Doesn't mean we cannot have some fun on the way Chris.

I do note that Chris likes his luxury vehicles with a couple of Fairy Ghias in the signature - has he moved up to a Lane, or even rarer an LTD? We do know that he likes his weekend cruises and what would suit better for a luxury weekender?

I am pretty sure the Prof is in Melbourne and he is picking it up tonight. I would also guestimate that he is buying it from a dealer as it was not ready for pickup yesterday - it is getting ball joints done today. Not all dealers use car sales!

Am I getting closer Chris?
