E series Wedding cars

What are your thoughts?

Does it scream bogan or poor to you?

I would like to use my car in my wedding in april but dont want people laughing at me.

No way. Screams 'passion' and christ knows there could be a little bit more passion thrown into marriage these days. Providing the Mrs approves, I think it's a great idea. Who cares what others say, as long as the day makes you two happy that's all that matters. Weddings where the bridal car is a BMW seem to ALWAYS lead to a short marriage anyway...

Honestly, for people who don't know you, It does come across a little bogan like (as it does with many older vehicles), but everyone at your wedding will know you, and your passion for your car so it will make perfect sense to them

Exactly right. Do what pleases you and bugger anyone else.

I got married just over 3 months ago and arranged 2 white Jag Mk5's for the transport. Both myself and the better half like old classics over the 300C's and Hummers.

My brother was secretly arranging a GTR for me through a mate. When he heard how adamant I was about preferring older cars he cancelled the car.

He used it for his own wedding just last weekend instead



If I still had the Yellow Festiva I would have probably got that to deliver me to the church for a laugh..

Mate just do it. E-series are great and look good even as they get on a bit. If they are all appearing their best with glass like paint and blindingly spotless windows it'll be awesome, people who don't know cars will think it's some new Ford car, and those who know will appreciate a well looked after bunch of EF's and L's, and admire the passion you have for your beast.
So what if some passer by thinks he's better than you because your wedding car's not a 7 series or stretch Hummer, you won't ever see him again and he's probably a douche anyway.

I'm old school. Unless they are white, I'd be guilty of thinking unfavourable things, not necessarily related to what you could or couldn't afford.

I don't agree with buggo's "douche" comment but do agree with doing what ever makes you both happy and bugger everyone else.

I personally think the new stretch Hummer and Territorys are cheap looking.

My particular EL is the best EL you can buy apart from a GT (in my eyes) and think it would look good with another E series or any other Ford that is dark blue.

I didn't even know wedding cars were supposed to be white.

I wanted to have my ZA ready for the wedding, now that would be classy, but im too lazy.

and yes I know the day is about my fiance but is the one thing I have a say in and my life basically revloves around cars. (Work, Hobby, entertainment, social, relaxation)

my brother had 2 in his wedding. i had a white one, another brother had a polynesian one. 3rd car was parents futura wagon.

can't think of too many times someone's had all e series wagons. have pics somewhere.

Why bother? Because 2/3 mean looking e series cars, as long as they are the same bodystyle, A/B/D, L/F look bloody sexy.

If you go a stretch terri, or hummer, you should be shot! Nothing screams out bogan/cheap/tryhard/try-to-look-like-I-have-class-on-a-budget-&-it-hasn't-worked more than those two stretch cars.

Hey, there is a group in Sydney or Melbourne, Sydney I think that now rent out their 3 SS Group a Walkinshaw Commodores out especially for Weddings. If that can be done, then I think 3 E series cars wont be bad.

In fact Im pretty sure through AFF there would be 2/3 EL GT Owners, that would provided their services for the day. Or maybe 2 EL GT's for the bridal party, & A Fairlane by Tickford (EL GT in a NL Fairlane body) as the brides transport.

In my experience, I can tell you that NONE of the details of the day matter. They just get in the way of what should be a pretty simple thing. If you can swing it, do whatever makes your boat float, forget minor details and have a fat time.

this is true, however if you don't work on some of the details, you may look back in the future and regret a little.

for example, for my wedding i had as the wedding car a white NC fairlane, with 2 vn commos for the bridal party. i've always liked fords but 2 mates had commo's (calais v8 and ss) and they were very tidy (no big body kits etc) and being young and nervous, they seemed as good as anything at the time.

now when i look back through wedding pics and see the car ones, i cringe a little and wish i'd did it a bit different.

The biggest issue i see about getting some of these really nice cars for a wedding especially high performance and rare stuff is that being a bloke i would wanna drive the thing hard on the way there, however its not often that the bride or groom drive there nor is it common for people to let you drive their cars haha

I have two mates one with an XW and one with an XY, (both TOUGH 351) But I would really like to be different & drive myself. (is 1 hr drive to wedding from home)

I also have a mate with a nice EL XR8 might get him to ferry some of the boys up there and I'll take my car with my best man ;)

Go with what you want. I had been asked many times to use my last car for weddings and it was an EL futura sedan. As long as your happy and the car is tidy then who cares. I am getting married in the 12th of next month and we are using an 06 gtp and 2010 clubsport. They are both extremely clean and my partner is happy so why not

Its your wedding mate, you can rock up in whatever you like really. Theres nothing wrong with an E-series as a wedding car. Its just like any car used. If its looking its best & youre happy thats all that matters.

Mine and my brothers were groomsmen and bridesmaid cars for a friends wedding mid last year.
The bridal car was a Black BMW X5 or something.
