Question Ute XR8 Exhaust choices?

Mods please delete previous thread posted something went wrong.

Anyway what I was wondering what option AU utes have exhaust wise.

As I live in Kal,Wa remote getting something shipped then fitted would be ideal.
Sedans have a large range of exhausts not so sure about the utes.

I saw on ebay they have a Redback exhaust for Au but not keen on 2 to 3inch single.

Also very interested in knowing if BA/BF Exhaust can fit from the cats?
(Googled this found nothing)(would be awesome if so)

My Exhaust is on the way out making noises and cats too.
My plan is to keep the headers stock but from there all new.

Thanks

Yep - it does. I did it on my old AU.

Got a BF pursuit exhaust including the Y piece and bolted it up to my cats. Worth noting that I did have difillippo headers on it though (same as the one i have now) so do some measurements but i reckon you'll be right.

I have a full difillippo system which was a nightmare to fit (they sent me a bent header) but i am happy with it apart from a horrible drone around 2000rpm on the highway.

I love v8 noise so drone don't bother me. Mine drones currently.
Interesting about the B-Series one will check it out.
Is this what you got?

Sound wise on a scale of 1-10 how would you rate the tone?

Yeah looks the same as that. Tonewise I love the idle and lots of people have commented that it sounds quite tough, as I said my only real issue with it is the drone when cruising around 110km/hr. Not sure how to fix it and I dont want to compromise the note so I may end up just putting up with it.

A rear muffler or resonator usually takes care of the drone. Has yours got one?

Do the 2 Pipes from cats to the back sound better or the one 3inch, seems the one 3inch is popular. Stock on mine is 2 into centre box then 2 out of that all the way to the rear no other boxes

Yes has a big barrel resonator at the very end of the system.

Venomous - mine goes twin all the way to the Y piece then single 3" all the way to the end over the diff etc.

I just noticed youve got B series systems shown in that diagram - my current AU runs their AU specific system which looks the same as that.

The best system for performance will be a dual 2.25" system.
It will also drone the least, all things being equal.

Thread bump of the year... but...

I have an AU XR8 Ute and the catback twin 2.5" exhaust from a BF XR8 ute (it's two pieces). I was having a look at my setup and I think it would fit.

Would it bolt onto the stock extractor flanges? I am going to investigate this tomorrow and if it doesn't work, at least if there is some room I could make an adapter out of 2.25" pipe and some flanges.

Ford AU XR8 Ute Twin 2.5" Manta Performance Exhaust System
Mandrel bent, Direct bolt on

This is a good system , bolt on from cat back.
Manta give you the option for the rear muffler.
Either no muffler , hot dog , or full resonator.

However it is 2.5 twin and ideally would advise only 2.25 for the 5.0L.

I use this system on my pursuit 250 and it sounds and works very well.
However the pursuit is a 5.6L and I get no drone. Went with the full resonator
rear.

It seems to be quite difficult to find a bolt on twin 2.25 system.
Most twin 2.25 seem to be custom jobs.

Cheers
