Default My new interest: People

I got on msn and saw my ex sign on. I broke up with her a long time ago and i was the one who called it off, so i'm in the "bad".
So i thought i'd say hi, turns out it's her new boyfriend. I became interest in who is he, and started to probe here and there to find out info about him.
Also lately i have been "studying" the way people react to certain situation, especially at work
Am i weird for having an interest in people and there behaviour or do other people feel this way?

Like people at work, how they respond to fake drills and stuff like that

People, forget he said anything about his ex! Is anyone interested in stirring people up just to see how they react? A neighbour, a workmate, a schoolyard chum? Forget about his ex-missus and read the question again.

As for me, I love messing with people. I have a habit of upsetting people though. Which I guess, at times, can be fun too.

I'm especially interested to see what sort of reaction this post will spark from everyones favourite safety hazard, sourbastard.

The mind boggles.

I'm not talking 'messing' with people, i just find interest in studying people's reactions to anything, not situations caused by me, i like to work out how people think. Anyway, not my thread, i'm done.

As for Lukey XF be carefull you could get done for stalking and yes most of us like to push the buttons to see what happens.

Your not weird...just a curious experimenter.

Think before you mess with someones head...how will they react!!!!!!!

It's a sexual perversion to be a voyeur. Clearly, you're a pervert with issues about your mother... Ahehehehea! ONLY JOKING!

Mate, everyone is interested in people's behaviours, and the people who are really interested become shrinks. Maybe you should become a shrink? Or a social analyst or something?

It's one thing to play with peoples heads but to see what people do and think can be fun sometimes like sitting in the busy part of town and just watch every one going about there day or take a seat at a shopping centre and watch people shop and be differnt

We most likely all go through the same thoughts, but one thing I have learned is you cannot explain a lot of people. They are irrational. Take for example, one of my collegue's father was murdered by her brother this morning. He had some issues. What in the hell was going through his head. Tis freaky stuff. I deal with all sorts and this really blew me away.............

Lukey XF: I'll be serious, and say no its not wierd. Some people have an obsession with nature or wildlife, some people become Marine Biologists or Environmental Coservationists. Others become Phsycologists and Phsyciatrists. Some people are dick heads and push people around to see what they do - like Nelson from Simpsons. Others are very observant and intelligent and knowledgeable like Lisa from Simpsons. You may not persue a career in Psychology, but you can only be a better person for studying how people act, react, and interact, especially from a third-person perspective where you are just observing, not interfering. You will learn to guage people's body language and listen for the fluctuations in their voice and eyes to let you know when someone is lying. You will be far better at relationships, both personal and social, far better at your work especially if you work in retail or hospitality - or any kind of customer interaction; reading people is an invaluable skill and having a genuine interest is a fantastic thing.

A saying I often used when training salespeople a few years back was that "You have two ears and one mouth - use them in proportion". Listen, watch what's going on and you will learn as these are inputs. You can't learn by speaking - only by listening.

So don't feel wierd for being interested in human nature and psycology. Just remember that buying ex-CIA devices from ebay is when it starts getting wierd.

Watch the movie SAW & SAW 2.
It's got some interesting reactions when people are put in live or die situations. :P

As for your first post. Of course it's interesting. Not weird.

Ok there are only a FEW people who have responded that actually understood why i started this. These people got the question and not that i had said the words "my ex-girlfriend".
Woz, was right on the money!

The story behind this, i used to study psychology. Does that explain anything

I'm sick of studying people. I work in a service sation. I see up to 400 people a day. Quite a few regulars.
I could write a huge essay on people's reaction in different situations.
Here's just a quick one... Fuel's cheap, people don't know how to reverse or give way to let someone out... Or let's not say cheap, say there's a big truck filling up on diesel or something....
We've run out of fuel or one of the pumps has been tagged and they need to find another.
Ta DA! We have a reverse gear!

But you are interested in people, the responses can be looked into and show we are all different and because of variables respond differently.

One day you will move on from your current job and you'll be amazed at what you actually learned. You will have learned to read people pretty well, to predict to some degree their immediate actions and you'll have a great BS meter. You are in the best training ground of all.

I'm SO not a people person. Maybe it's an only child thing.

I don't have much close family. Never really socialised as a kid, so I guess that might have something to do with it.
