I got a head ache!

This is where iam up.

Rang about 11 different ford wreckers and dealers about advice/ installing fairmont dash.
Everyone different answer's and the ford wreckers in sydney are a JOKE!!! No help,no idea, one didnt speek english well, trying to explain what i wanted and told me"no we have no fairmont utes here" No kidding :togo: Other said its not possible to install hang up VERY RUDE :evil3:

One ford dealer said no,other maybe other yes. _

One ford dealer seem good, was looking into it,ring me back...............waiting. :-p He might ring, seem interested 2 help!

One ford person said color BEM's mean nothing, you have to change BEM in ute not same as fairmont, but both are pink.

Got part number rang up anthor ford person and said yes, both XR and fairmont BEM is same.

FTG were good, but dont have a fairmont dash for me :-p Fairmont AU2 very hard to find at wreckers i also discover.

BUT with good and bad advice you can take a bit from it all

I think i got myself a game plan, just need a good dash, when get dash ill pull apart and see how impossible it is lol

Touch wood, shouldnt be as bad as people think.
WE know one smart man here who's done it :
May there be two :

If you get the Fairmont, you could take care of the key issue at the same time.

For this kind of job, personally I'd go grab a banged up AU2/3 mont from the auctions, that way you have every single part required, and you can disassemble yourself and see how everything's meant to be, do the conversion in your ute, and flog off what you don't need.

Can definitely assure you it can be done. Agree with the BEM thing, regardless of colours you will need to change it.

Keep an eye out for a Fairmont (better still a Ghia), take the bits you want, sell the rest, there's your dash and your layout to work from.
