yes mate agree, the later than usual rain has us out there to avoid a twice longer job than normal.
I don't get how some leave it till its shin height and more but then again they probably don't wash their cars as much as well etcetc.... I sometimes think are they smarter or not ? Some see maintenace as such a chore whereas I see it as normal, looking after your properties/cars/house etcetc.....

Christmas lawn run yesterday and today. Sunny and 38 degree heat
Ranger earned her keep today, running full up. Whilst I tend to mulch most of my regular lawns, some need to be caught and bagged. Results from 3 of said lawns below - Buggered right now, and back into on Thursday.

My XR6 got a prezzie too . I bought her a new GPS . Made by XGODY..This is the second one I've bought . The first one is really good to use for an after market one and not expensive . Was cheap too. Big screen also ,almost too big actually. . The AU ll will get the original one to replace the old Navman because the touch screen has gone haywire and it's as useless as mammaries on a bull now but it is pretty old . Back on mowing . I've mixed my fuel 40:1 for the Husky brushcutter and running beautifully . How'd you get on with your Husky in that regard . |

I'm all for trying anything different but this machine has me a little bewildered to be honest .
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kZzYPcxKuI .. I'd reckon a good normal brushcutter would be just as quick and less messy for this sort of work . Anybody had use of this sort of gear to convince me otherwise . |

I wonder how long before Kia enter the garden equipment market .
Here's one of Hyundai's efforts .... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKgR0sfEYgI ... They make numerous items from mowers , chainsaws , these trimmers/brushcutters etc but this thing I'm not too sure about . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqCplZ06O6A Maybe a good blower /vac would be better in most cases . Not sure . Last edited by roddy1960; 27-12-2018 at 08:52 AM. |

Having a squizz on You Tube to get out of the heat (yes , even in Tassie) going to be pushing 40 C tomorrow too apparently ..and found a review on the new Husqvarna entry level ride on . These have replaced the LT series mowers that were pretty successful for a long time . Mine is the LTH 19530 ..
Not a bad deal ..Just under $3000, 17.5 hp ..(mine is 19.5 hp) and 5 year warranty .. Bloody easy to maintain , really reliable and plenty of power for most private owners . Mine is about 6 years old now and is a joy to use . I cut a couple of other places for people who can't really do it themselves anymore and was interesting to see the current base level Husky's .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SRvJi3EKwY ... |

Ive always wanted to buy a goat. It would be like weed and feed, and mow the lawn. I would call it butthead. Problem is the squares who work for the council want permits for farm animals.

Out using the Mulchmaster this morning cutting 1 weeks worth of growth. The Mulchmaster is an ideal choice for this as its not trying to slash down too much growth and means that I'm not having to empty a catcher and dispose of clippings. This is beneficial for the health of the lawn as well, with this particular property not fertilized in over 5 years!
After being gifted a new drive belt and an adjustment, the Mulchy is running strong again. My BEST mower!

So I’m not one that cares much for mowing & haven’t really liked our Honda hru19m1 since we got it. Had a few issues from day one that have now been sorted but still not a fan.
So anyway, I’d been looking at a few different battery options & was liking the ego or new? Husqvarna (bloody expensive). I’d spotted the aeg 58v a while ago & today at Bunnings I had a better look. Turns out they had a mower skin on clearance for $200 from $399 so we grabbed it. Gonna grab the line trimmer kit next week which will give us the battery & charger. Both have a free battery via redemption so will end up with 3 shortly. Find out how it goes soon enough. Hopefully the pics aren’t too big

I've taken a step or two down the electric battery path by buying a little Rockwell line trimmer a few months ago .Too slow of course for bigger jobs and not meant for it anyway so I use my Jonsered and Husky for that (both brushcutters) . Around tight corners and gaps like behind sheds , trees , shrubs , flower beds, latticework etc. it's great . Cost me $109 at Mitre 10 . A couple of days ago I was again in Mitre 10 to get a third battery for my Makita and saw the Rockwell bonus battery and charger kit for the princely sum of $49 so I bought that too . I get about a good 40 minutes out of the little line trimmer but for not too much I have the option of a second battery now and a back up charger . On Rockwell , it's not too bad of stuff for what you pay but with my drill / driver , jigsaw , circular saw kit and five piece combo kit that lives in the car , none have ever let me down. With battery powered garden gear it's getting a genuine option to fuel powered and in so many ways makes great sense . The prices now too are really great aka yours .. Thanks for posting . Thats a cracker deal
I looked at the AEG seriously before buying a toro super recycler Just something about mowing the lawns using power from the sun (via solar panels) that seemed right If I'd have seen it for $200, I'd have jumped on it too. Particularly given I was going to buy a line trimmer. (ended up with the bosch 36v) its adequate i.e does what it needs to do. Let us know how it goes with 4" wet grass eh ? Oh, and keep your eye out on gumtree - they had a free chainsaw giveaway to kick start sales of the AEG |
