Default 3 2 1 Lights

Hi All,
Just a question about my mates 99 XR6.
P R N D 4 3 2 1 lights have gone out.
How to change them??
Is it a matter of just levering up the surround around the t-bar?
Or the whole center (arm rest) console has to come out???

Cheers
Richard

hey, the globe around the Center console that lights up yeah ? well you have to take out the entire centre console not as hard as it sounds..

you will need a 8mm socket. and well thats about it. follow these steps

2x under the ash tray tray thing (lift the rubber thing)
2x Under need the drink holders (lift the rubber thing)
2x on either side of the rear part of the console on the floor next to the rear of teh front seats. you might have to move the chairs forward to get to them

and last not least pull the shifter out.. one screw on the front of the shifter and the button should come out then just pull it up. (the surround will stay tho)

and then lift the rear part of the console up and pull towards the back seats making sure you dont scrath the cd/tape player face.
(the rear curtisy light might have to be unplugged depends if you have one, the cord should be visible if u do, will get tight as well)
your handbrake will get in the way, just monuver around it,

once its off the globe shoudl be on the right hand side, take it out, replace it and your all done.

put it all back together and your done.

Should only take 10 minutes or so.

Hope that helps (not the best walkthrough)

Here's a "how to" for changing the normal gear surround to a chrome one. I suspect it will show you pretty much everything you need to see.

Cheers and all the best with it. Let us know how you go.

I used a replacement LED in mine ... I think it's a T10 from memory ... don't quote me on that.

Test it before putting it back together though ... hee hee
