Default Auto Trans Service

Hi All, I have a 2009 MB series Mondeo, diesel.
Does anyone know when the Auto Trans is up for service, at what mileage? Many thanks.

Is that the powershift tranny??

If so, services are every 60k km and will set you back around $450-$500 alone.

Your book may not mention it either.

Service cost must have come down a little. When I priced my non power shift trans it was close to 500. And the power shift was considerably more. Also I'd be checking the kms. I have heard all different versions. My Ford bloke which is quite good actually said for what I do if I had a power shift I'd be looking at 40000km services. The normal box is around 60000.

This is the problem. So many different stories going around!

The LV Focus, which shares the same powertrain and the Mondeo doesn't mention the powershift in the servicing section, even though it does list the transmission as available in the specs, and lists the fluids etc.

You then assume that when they say the auto tranny is sealed for life, they wre referring to the older 4sp unit perhaps???

When the guy at Ford challenged me after I told him the book says nothing for the powershift he was a littl shocked, but then insisted it was every 60k.

Have prices gone up that much? I thought that the normal auto boxes were much less than $500 to service.

If you want to work out the cost of the powershift on its own play around with the capped price servicing site.

Seems the Ford site is down at the moment.... can't take a look for myself.
