Default Cam in All Gas Ute

A friend of mine has a Gas only AU Ute.
just wondering you can drop Petty cam in one of these and get the same results or do you need to get a special type of cam?
cheers

Crescent Motorsport in Liverpool NSW have a specific cam for factory LPG AUs
I had it running in my AUII ute for a few years ... was a decent upgrade over the standard item ... nice lope at idle as well.

Ute was running with the factory standard tune as well with the Stg II LPG cam in it ... would have had better results if i had it edited though.

Venrier cam gear ... shims ... and cam ... that's all that was done.
Already had Pacie 4499s and 2.5" exhaust on it

I think he now does an auto specific cam as well to suit that application.
Mine you I had his original LPG cam in my auto ute ... and it made a decent difference.
On decent inclines I wouldn't get the auto kicking back 2 gears just to get move ... it might have gone back to 3rd out of 4th some times .... most times it would use the peak torque down low and stay in 4th on hills.

What I found that i needed to do was put a shorter diff ratio in the damn thing ... it would have really moved much better then.
