Default 240 cortina two door

Hey can anyone tell me wether it is worth picking up a 240 cortina 1969 two door. I should be able to get it relatively cheap couple hundred dollars has got some cancer and needs complete engine rebuild but relatively tidy. Are parts readily available for these vehicles and what sort of power upgrades can you utilise in these vehicles. Any help would be great.

Nah, the 2 door is a 240

the term 'worth' troubles me, any project car is going to cost money, if you have the option between 2 cars, ones rusted to bits, the others ok, then its 'worth' paying alittle extra for the better one.

Thats what it looked like when i bought it.

Thats what it looks like now. I spent alot of money on it. There great cars. Good for belting around the streets (legal speed limits....of course officer) And nothing draws people to a car quicker than a nice corty, there a car thats touch most people in some way, either it was their first car, their dads first car, first crash, whatever, i think nearly everyone has a cortina story

Do it.

Hahaha!

My first crash was in a cortina.

My older cousin was taking me for my first cruise as a young teenager. I remember having to convince my parents to let me go.

It was raining lightly and as we rounded a corner into an industrial area he chomped it, sending us into a drifting fish-tail up the street. In all the wisdom of an inexperienced teenage p-plater he decided it was a good idea to take it up the gutter and head-on into a telegraph pole.

The cortina lived to drive another day, but clearly he felt like a nonce. We hightailed it before a patrolling security guard called the police.

That's my cortina story.

all 2 doors

mk1 or mk2 are worth keeping/getting

they will always sell before a 4 door (unless at gt etc)

Default 240 two door

Yeah it is officially mine I picked it up for 350 it has got some rust and does need a little work. I don't know a lot about these cars but I love any thing with a ford badge and I love the overall appearance of the car. I will be getting advice from here a lot I would imagine. So any links for buying or sourcing parts would be much appreciated.
And I love the car in the picture before and after but after looks sweet, looks great I could only dream of having it loking like that. I will post some pics when I get her home but don't expect too much.
