Default Valve springs

Hi,

I was just wondering, when you install a supercharger to a Boss engine you upgrade the valve springs?

Cheers Jeff

Hi Jeff,

The quick answer is just "no", however, we make the recomendations that if a client wants to

*exceed 8-10psi boost
*run camshafts narrower than 112lobe with extra lift
*use the car for competitive use

we recommend upgrading of pump gears and valve springs. On our Blower option engine, all these things are included, however when someone "starts" on a blower program at say, 300-330rwkw, you will find it wont be long before the addiction takes over, and 400 becomes the target, then 500, etc etc.

We take it on a case by case basis, and as cases do vary, we warn people, and leave it at that. A smart client will heed advice and follow a sensible program, and have trouble free motoring.
