Any firewall software is good, except for Zone Alarm

Google 'free firewalls' and take a look at what comes up, then google a review for that particular firewall, with a bit of reading you'll find a decent one.

ultimate protection = Linux not a single thing even viruses
otherwise get Norton Internet Security (here we go) this program will make your computer so slow NO one will want to hack you!
Zone Alarm is cools BUT ive been told by some very nerdy nerds that it stuffs your network connection or something.
BlackICE i tried a while ago and it was good.
theres another program like zone alarm which is better cant remem the name

ahh just read your post fully! MSN accounts are not accessed via your computer. i remem a thing where you sent an email to an email and it sent your back their passwords..i did work for a while..also make sure your secret password thing is unpredictable
with MSN messenger and hotmail dont add anything that looks sus, dont open emails that look sus, and ALWAYS remember NO ONE ever asks for any details over the email system OK...

site tracing on your computer....well 1 of many ways are cookies...you download these every time you visit a new site. so no surfing you no what if your worried about tracer cookies... other things include spyware.. like i said do not surf you no what... then theres trojans and some worms.. as before dont surf you know what

anything else is something you'll have to live with as long as you use MS windows

hope that helps

Bit Defender Pro, comes complete with Antivirus, Firewall and Anti Spyware, regarded as one of the best on the market. Firefox as a browser.

I suggest Sygate Personal Firewall or Tiny Personal firewall, I've used both and they've been great.

Zone alarm is crap simply because its marketed towards the entry level person, i.e 'point and click' but the problem there is, most people don't read what pops up when the item box pops up for every window you open.

Like previously suggested, it also screws up network connectability and stability. It is also hacked easily because its a pretty standard firewall application.

Been using Sygate for about 2 years now, so far so good... Combined it with Avast anti-virus and all is well.

I've got Trend Micro PCCillin Internet Security 2006. Havent got anything since I've had it. The firewall was so good that I couldn't even connect to the net lol. Also has a website filter so it blocks anything you define as not being able to view.
