Where's all the Phoons and Gt's? Why is there always more commoncars at speed events?

I'm geographically challenged (Tas based), so can't make it, can't help fly the blue flag. Id love to have a crack at the Island one day though.

It is a fast track yeh? What is the speed down the main straight before brake time?

Already full my friend.... they have about half a dozen on the wait list.

This one is being run by the WRX club, but we have 5 or 6 track days each year in conjunction with the HSV club- bit of red vs blue rivalry.

You can simply head down for a look. Sprints at the Island are generally $200 upwards, Sandown $170 and Winton $140 I think.

After this one is Winton in April (Anzac day weekend) and then Sandown on May 24th.

Cheers,

I'm in!

It's been a while since I've seen grown men drinking copious amounts of silly red girlie drinks!

Where are we staying?

Prob right at this time GRNKPR is downing said girlie drinks, whilst Black TE50 is drowning his sorrows.....
Black TE50 was doing some mighty fine times (faster than GRNKPR in fact), until it all went pear shaped very late in the day - a minor altercation with some tyres sees him needing a new front bar - still driveable we hear and he is fine which is the main thing.
Most of our guys were there for a practice run for the 6 hour - which I'm pleased to say we have 12 guys wanting to come play.... :

It was a cold windy day down there - glad I wasn't a flaggie or C/Course for a change - geez it's nice to sleep in and wander down at our leisure......

Bruce's bee-yoot-ee-full mustang

Alex keeping them at bay

Micheal thought no one was watching..... :evil3:

GRNKPR - you can see it started to "persist" down - which was my cue to exit...... he even had to work on his car - that's twice in one year we have seen him get his hands dirty in an engine bay..... :

We wish!!!!!!!!!!! Uncle Phil at 5.00am (with a few on board) is like nothing you have ever seen or heard. On the subject of hearing, the noise starts from the time Unc exists (falls out?) of the cab in the street and gets progressively louder as he trys every outside door, eventually finds the one he asked you to leave open in the first place until, it arrives in your bedroom at full noise!

In fact, Uncle Phil at 5.00am is not unlike his racecar - very loud, quite unsettled, and in need of a little work under the bonnet.......

BTW, Black TE50's damage is limited to the front bumper (which should repairable) and some bent brackets. There is no panel damage. It could have been heaps worse. It was urinating down. Note to self - no chasing in the wet!!!!!!!!!!!
