Today I saw a BA Pursuit. Looked a little odd. He went past me and the first thing I noticed was the side skirt. Cool. Pursuit. Then I looked at the other side and it was missing a skirt. AT the lights it looked to be sitting very high for an FPV. Managed to get in front of it. Just as I thought, XR8 ute badged with the FPV and Pursuit on the tailgate and the Pursuit badge on the 1 side skirt. It still has the BA XR front bar. Maybe it was a kit bought from a smashed Pursuit, but he had a big fat New Gel sticker on the rear window. The ute was white, soft cover, sports bar and I think the BA XR 6 17" rims.

No problem with kitting the ute, but badging it as well? I can confirm it was not an FPV because i saw through to the dash from the side and there was no starter button

Personally I wouldn't have them on my car but each to their own. Some non-gts they look tacky but other non-gts they look really good.

lol @ people in general.

Look, this should clear some things up.

In case no one has noticed, not everyone in the world has the same opinion, thus the reason for politics, wars, VARIETY IN ICE CREAM FLAVOURS and so on. This thread is pointless because it's always going to cause people to get hot under the colour (why i don't know, but it does). This is about the 50 millionth time i've said this, but: what people do with their own car is their own business, no one elses. One man's trash is another man's treasure etc etc.
YOUR car, YOUR money, YOUR choice. If someone has a problem with something you're doing to your own belongings, TELL THEM TO JAM IT. Either that or smile politely and drive off.

To me stripes look great, as long as you debadge the side skirts, or put aftermarket/fpv side skirts on it. My opinion, one of many in this world.

I recently puchased a BA GT and really liked the GT stripes on some i have seen and was seriously considering putting them on, but in the month or two i have had it i reckon ive seen at least a dozen xr6's and 8' with them on. So lame, i used to own an ef xr6 and would never try to imitate anything ,it was an xr6 and i was happy with that, so i have now decided against the stripes for my GT. :
I THOUGHT THEY WERE CALLED GT STRIPES FOR A REASON
anyway theres my 2 bobs worth

I 100% agree. Regarding the GT stipes, I now refere to them a ****er stripes. Which I think is a more suitable name for them... But hey if you like the big respect from da fully sik boys in da Civic, then go for it....

Ford has done well with the stripes and they seem to be popular all around. I had them on my car (t3 kit) and everyone thought they looked great but I didn't really like them.

You see alot of cars seem to be going down the same path iv seen them on 380's and they are now on those ugly suziki swifs everyone seems to be driving for some reason. Im just wondering how many more times can ford re-design them.

I think the fact that even GT's and GT-P's don't come with stripes either should help put an end to this thread.

They are an optional extra. Who cares what car they go on? How can they be called "GT" stripes when GT's don't even have them.

And as for those mocking the Holden owners with stripes, maybe you're too young to remember the HK-T-G-Q-J-X-Z GTS's they all had stripes!

It's not a FORD thing, or even a CAR thing - it's a PEOPLE thing. Either you want em or you don't.

GET OVER IT!

Just my 2c.

/me puts Nomex suit on

Cheers,

noticed in the 'show us your ba' thread you've posted pics of new bonnet stripes you've just fitted. Assuming from the price you paid and the wheels that yours is a MK1, which didn't come with the option of bonnet stripes at all (was a mk2 introduction) it makes your post about putting stripes that don't belong on that series/model a hypocritical statement. If it's a MK2 however, i retract this statement.

Either way i love the stripes on any ford, depending on the colour of course, and i think your bonnet stripes look great, well done, but just goes back on what you typed earlier.

I don't think it will be too long until we see Holden tranny drivers painting the dash of their VN Commonwhores orange to copy the new SSV.

Stripes look good IMO.

However FPV can't put them on to save themselves.

That's why ones fitted by AWC always look so hot...! :

Stripes or bulges on a non GT/GTP = as bad as a 5" cannon on a rice bucket. End of story

Saw a BA XR6 today - no idea if it was a T or not, but it had GT stripes down the sides, and a Typhoon badge on the boot.

All I could think was 'someone's a little confused'.

You would never choose to put stripes on your car Bucky. It was Jim's fault was in it.
