Yep, I'll verify that it has been over 50 in NW Victoria more than once. Weather claimed that it was 48, but anybody with any type of reliable temp guage knows its been above 50 in the shade more than once. Never say never. Just cos the TV says so, does not make it so. Seriously, does anybody take that much notice, especially with the likes of channel 10 and their sub-nostradamus style of weather prediction

It also mentions here 53C at Cloncurry http://www.wilmap.com.au/ausfacts.html

Quite often you hear of 50+ temps in central Australia. We have been in 55C in WA before, the guy at the servo said thats what it was but not sure what or how accurate the measuring device was.

Don't the hot weather turn an F6 into a slug?

My normal average is around the 17 - 19 L / 100.

Car has always run rich from the day I got it.......in fact, it used to run 20 - 21 before it was run in. AFR's on the last dyno run also showed this.

I guess there's heaps of scope for a custom tune when the time comes......

It will be a relatively cool 35 in Sydney's west today! :
Glad the extreme heat hasn't hit out here consistently!

went out and brought a portable air con to cool down the lounge room and adjoining dining room (one big room with a small partition) but just couldn't get it cool enough, from 41C down to 31C , not bad but still not nice enough to sleep in, so we shoved it in the smallest room ( Abby's room) and have had it on all morning , a pleasant 25C, we are all going to crash in there tonight.
It's amazing that she can sleep with all the noise in that room, air con and fan all going flat out and she fell asleep with in 2 minutes

Im not having a go at Holden, but over the last few days I made a mental note of the makes of cars that were broken down/bonnet up on the side of Melbourne roads, and easily the most represented was the Commodore, 2nd would have been EA falcon.

Just for info. Weather.com.au is one of the most unreliable sources of weather information around.

Do not rely on it and if you want more factual forecast info, check www.bom.gov.au

That other site is absolute garbage and has got many forecasts wrong in the past. Are they just guessing or what? I don't know where they get their info from.

The highest recorded temperature in 'Melbourne' was on the 13th of January in 1939 and it reached 45.6

The Friday just passed it reached 45.1. New Year's Eve in 2005 was 42.9. New Year's Eve in 2007 was 41.1.

We had 46c on the outside gauge in Brighton on Friday.

I suppose it depends on where the weather station is as to the temp

I find www.weatherzone.com.au good too, it has a lot of stats, big forecast and easier to read than bom.

Yeah, that's true and I agree about being easier to read.

I guess my point was the variance in temperature for 'Melbourne' specific forecasts and currently they have 41 forecast for the city for next Saturday, while BOM and all others have a milder 32 forecast for the city.

I'm jealous of my neighbours in the south of the state. Up here we are into day 7 of the over 40's with no relief from it until Sunday when we have a 29 forecast. 12 Days of this is just too much.

up here in townsville we have had 450mm of rain in 20 hours. i wish i could show the photo's of these floods, the ross river bridge just went under in five spots and the boer river have 50cm before it does on the top bridge. if the boer river goes under the surrounding towns are in big trouble, and apparently the worst is yet to come. we just got knocked off from work and a few of the fellas cant even get home.

I think you guys need to take annual leave and have a holiday in the tropics! atleast it will be cooler :P

Apparently the heatwave is about to hit Sydney later this week. Heard it was gonna hit 40deg on saturday. Ill believe it when i feel it though. Usually only stays that temp until 3:00pm then the thunderheads roll in and blow it all away
